Episode 659 - Here's a Little Lesson
Taped: 10/2/22
Plot:
Eggman calls down Cubot and Orbot in search of a new computer chip. The two robots look for anything they find with Cubot pulling up everything but computer chips. Orbot gives up and goes with Cubot's suggestion of taking anything they can carry. Eggman smacks them both and looks for the parts he needs himself. After finishing his invention, he gives Cubot and Orbot seemingly simple instructions to make it operate. He doesn't specify the location of the two buttons, and the robots wind up pressing the wrong ones. Eggman wonders why the machine isn't working, then it explodes seconds afterward. Eggman sends them away with a transporter and vows to have brand new assistants work for him. He decides to have those new assistants be clones of himself. Late that night, Eggman has fashioned a giant egg sac which he uses to lay numerous giant eggs. The first clone that hatches is a much stupider version of Eggman. The second clone is a giant baby version of him, and the third keels over immediately after hatching. Eggman decides to let the first one do his bidding, even if he doesn't understand a word Eggman says. He invites the second clone over and they go over a music montage on how to be evil. After they're finished, the two clones seems to have an idea of what to do. Amy walks in on Sonic watching sitcoms from the 70s. They talk about what to get Lightning for his 16th birthday until the doorbell rings. Sonic answers and is greeted by Eggman unleashing his two clones on him. The second clone throws a net on him and the first flicks him on the nose. Sonic throws the net off, making the second clone mess himself and the first clone act stupid. Eggman has had enough, so Amy lets him borrow her hammer so he can smash the clones into the street. Eggman confesses that he got rid of Cubot and Orbot because he was sick of having idiots for robot henchman. He also has second thoughts about transporting Cubot and Orbot away, although he's not sure where they went. Sonic and Amy help him narrow their locations down to either the Hot Shelter in the original Egg Carrier wreckage, Red Mountain, or Windy Valley. They first check out the Egg Carrier which has been sitting in the ocean untouched for the past 23 years. The find nothing so they move on to Red Mountain where they find Orbot, and Eggman reactivates him. Orbot acts like Conky 2000, printing a piece of paper that says "F--- you!" They then try the Mystic Ruins, where they think Cubot must be in Windy Valley since the key hasn't been activated. They look for the key, but it's not in its normal place. Sonic calls Tails who tells him he put it in a new place since he was sick of people trespassing near his workshop. They check out the new hiding place, but it's not there either. They see a mysterious light emanating from Tails' workshop. They open the door to discover Cubot playing with the Wind Stone. Eggman apologizes to Cubot and Orbot who are both happy to have things back the way they were before. Everyone goes their separate ways with Eggman setting up his invention once more. Cubot and Orbot follow the instructions properly, but the machine explodes again.
