Episode 619 - Let's Talk About That
Taped: 9/24/21
Plot:
Phire plays in the sandbox while Platinum finishes his homework. Platinum goes out just in time to see Phire dumping a bucket of sand all over Silver. Platinum comes out and finds it amusing, but Silver is forced to play along with what Phire wants to do. That night, Silver tells Blaze that he's starting to think that Phire actually hates him. Blaze says that it might be a phase that Phire will eventually grow out of. The next morning, Phire plays while Silver watches a morning talk show which gives him an idea. Silver tells Blaze that he might be able to exhibit his feelings about fatherhood on a national scale if he had his own talk show. Silver sets up his own studio in the basement, which Blaze finds that it's similar to 25 Words or Less. Silver explains that it's his home studio for the talk show. Silver agrees to let Blaze have the first audition, and they talk about how hard it is raising Phire after Platinum turned out just fine. Silver appreciates the job Blaze did, but he calls in other audtionees to show their stuff. Vector talks about crime rates in Station Square, Cream talks about the importance of the educational system, Locke goes on a rant about his distaste for kids on their phones, and Sonic gives an outdated Sonic Sez PSA about staying in school with a disinterested Tails painting the 'Sonic Sez' sign and an unenthused Lightning in a Scratch mask. Silver isn't too impressed with any of the guest hosts, so he decides to extend the audition process. He then calls on Knuckles who decides to talk about paranormal but is cut short when Silver can't take anymore of his rambling. Platinum is next and decides to do his own segment, talking about what he's learned in school so far but keeps getting interrupted by Silver fighting with the camera. It's that point that Silver cries because he realizes his talk show isn't going anywhere. He tells Platinum that he's sick of being unpopular thanks to his role in Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 and nobody in the future wanting him around anymore. Silver confirms that he may not need his talk show after all, and that he may need to show some backbone around Phire. After dismantling his talk show set, he spends some time playing with Phire who promptly bonks him on the head with her toy and tries to claw him in the eye when he refuses to give it back. Silver takes the first step in disciplining Phire, and it goes much better than he thought because she's finally listening to him. Blaze agrees that it's the first step in getting Phire to like him more. Meanwhile, Lightning and Tails talk about how Tails has actually hated being the "dumb" one in Sonic Sez segments since childhood but puts up with it because it's a popular bit which leads to them setting up the first ever Tails Sez segment.
Tails Sez: Tails talks about how important it is to maintain your physical and mental health. He then explains why you need to think straight because robots can't. He also says there's no shame in getting help when you need it most. Tails boasts that he's way past cool, much to Sonic's chagrin.
Fun Facts:
We learn that Phire can somewhat talk now and that she doesn't actually hate Silver but rather displays traits that were corrected in Blaze at a young age by Sheila.
