Episode 597 - Be My Valen-time
Taped: 2/12/21
Plot:
Sonic and Amy have the whole house to themselves, so they decide to make a nice romantic dinner from scratch. They cook up steak, mashed potatoes, and asparagus which they put on their dining room table with candles. Just as they're about ready to start eating, the doorbell rings. Sonic goes over and sees Silver wondering who's home. He opens the door when Silver realizes there are people inside. Silver has caught a nasty cold and asks Sonic for some cold medicine. Blaze wants him out of the house because she doesn't want Phire getting sick, plus he won't be allowed in any store with a fever so high. Sonic grabs some cold medicine for Silver to take. He thanks Sonic but accidentally Chronos Controls him and Amy with a massive sneeze. Sonic and Amy discover themselves on a dirt path in the middle of the woods. They flag down a passing driver who tells them that their neighborhood of Garnet Grove doesn't exist. Sonic tells them that it's been around for decades, only for the driver to say that they're in 1921, not 2021. The driver still offers them a lift into town, pointing out that Warren Harding is the president-elect and Twinkle Park hasn't been built yet. He then slaps his forehead when he sees Theodore Robotnik up to no good. Sonic and Amy leave him to stop Robotnik from robbing a train. Amy stops Sonic from defeating him, thinking he may have a way to bring them back to their own year. Robotnik sees their ideas as too impossible, although he does come up with a way to get them to the Master Emerald. He gives them a lift in his hot air balloon to Angel Island. They come across a boy named Sabre who tells Sonic and Amy that he's going to be a guardian someday. Sonic and Amy ask him if he can lead them to the Master Emerald, which he does. The current guardian reveals himself to be Athair, Knuckles' great-grandfather. Sonic and Amy warn him of his upcoming lineage: his grandson will be named Locke and his great-grandson will marry a bat. Athair isn't convinced until Amy plays a video of Knuckles reciting Tikal's prayer. Athair finally offers to help them get back to 2021 by harnessing the Master Emerald's powers. Sonic and Amy jump out of the Master Emerald, scaring Knuckles in the process. Amy tells them that they spent some time in 1921 after Silver sneezed them to the past. They stop to have cookies with his family before returning home where they reheat and eat their meal. After they're finished, there's a knock on the door. Eggman is there, having converted to Mormonism. His preaching is cut short when Cream bumps him out of the way. She invites them over for cupcakes to close the episode.
