Episode 590 - Under New Management
Taped: 12/11/20
Plot:
Espio, Charmy, and Eric try to hook up their Xbox when Vector announces that he's taking Vanilla and Charisma to see some relatives for the week. Vector doesn't trust any of them to run Chaotix, so he announces that he's hired someone out of college to manage them while he's out. The new manager, Jordan, announces that he's got sweeping changes to improve Chaotix. The first thing he does is fire Charmy since he doesn't want a former drug addict on his team. He then gets the rest of Chaotix to remodel their bedrooms into home offices, telling them they can't live on the premises anymore. He also changes their hours and dress code, demanding them to come back the following morning at 5:00 a.m. in business attire. Jordan hosts a mandatory meeting with the remaining staff, boring them about ways to improve Chaotix. At the end, Eric gets up and storms out. Jordan replaces him with a recent college grad named Megan who was hired because she took one criminal justice class. Charmy visits Cream, telling her that Jordan is ruining Chaotix. Cream receives a message on her phone that Eric and Mighty have now quit. Cream offers to drive Charmy to where Vector and Vanilla have gone. On the way there, Charmy asks Cream if it ever blows her mind that she has a crocodile for a father to which she replies sometimes but she's glad to know it after years not knowing. He also admits that he genuinely cares about her because she's been so important to Chaotix through the years. After getting completely caught up in his emotions, he kisses her but quickly apologizes. Eric and Mighty pay a visit to Wang-Lo in hopes of joining Panda-Monium but he quickly rejects them as they are not pandas. Meanwhile, Jordan has hired Felicity, a young sassy black girl, in place of Mighty. She clashes with Megan as Jordan announces that they have their first case. When they get in the van, Felicity objects to Espio playing rock music and turns off the stereo. They arrive at the crime scene where Espio teaches the girls how to look for clues. Megan celebrates on finding the littlest hints which drive Felicity crazy. They then start tracking down the crook by finding the clues leading to his getaway. Sonic and Amy order McDonald's and are shocked to discover Eric and Mighty working there. Eric, who is working the pay window, said it will be how he can make ends meet until Vector comes back. Cream and Charmy see Vector playing with Charisma near a pond, and they rush off to warn him about Jordan. When Vector hears all the things Jordan did to "improve" the agency, he admits that he should have been more careful when looking at qualifications. Cream drives Vector and Charmy back to the agency in her car. Jordan congratulates his crew in solving a case, including new hire José. He fires Espio when he refuses to do custodial work. Espio warns him that Vector isn't going to like what he's doing to Chaotix. Jordan blows it off, only for Vector to barge inside and call him out on the job he's doing. Jordan insists that he's brought the agency out of the 90s but Vector flat-out tells him that it didn't need any improvements to begin with. Eric, Charmy, Espio, and Mighty then beat Jordan up with Vector joining in soon after. Chaotix then redecorates the office to the way it was before. On their way back, Vanilla and Charisma pick up McDonald's. They discover a battered and bruised Jordan working the pick-up window and laugh at him.
Fun Facts:
We learn that Charmy cares about Cream because they're the same age and grew up together under Vector and Vanilla's watch. Wang-Lo from Panda-Moniun is seen for the first time since his initial appearance in Episode 503 - Rock Around the Block.
