Episode 565 - Who Framed Sonic the Hedgehog?
Taped: 5/15/20
Plot:
Sonic neglects to put a missing bolt back in his lawnmower after attempting to repair it. By doing so, the blade flies out and hits the pool lining, rendering both unusable. Amy walks over to Cream who's decorating her house for the spring. Tails comes over, telling her that Sonic can borrow his until Lowe's reopens. After a brief demonstration of Tails' brand new Husqvarna riding mower, Sonic finishes the rest of the mowing job. While the couples talk about what they're going to do with their stimulus checks, several police cars surround the house. Sonic is arrested for being an alleged suspect in the murder of Melinda Jergenstein and thrown into a police van. Amy has Cream call up Chaotix who is in the middle of a jam session. They drive over to help Sonic clear his name. Sonic, meanwhile, has to share his cell with a burly man who puts a wig on him and makes him his new wife. Chaotix tracks down the victims address and asks her husband some questions about her job. They determine him to be clean so they go to the nursing home where she worked to look for clues. Sonic's prisoner husband is led to the electric chair to be executed, much to Sonic's delight. Sonic is then introduced to his lawyer who turns out to be a phony, and they wind up sharing a cell together. Chaotix analyzes the nursing home's kitchen where the murder took place. They find a brown thread on the floor so they ask to see the security footage. They see the suspect climbing inside and getting out, looking nothing like Sonic. Since it's in black and white, they have Espio stand under a fluorescent light where he appears blue. They determine that the killer had a similar complexion as Espio and that Sonic is innocent. Chaotix asks the manager what else he knows, and he admits that there was another incident at a soup kitchen about someone being denied free food A few weeks ago, someone came in with a weapon and was escorted off-site. Back at the prison, Sonic does exercises in the gym. A guard warns him that because of his build, he'd better watch himself when he showers. Chaotix goes to the soup kitchen where the owner tells them about what happened with the suspect who came in. After he gives a description, Chaotix realizes that Nack the Weasel framed Sonic again. Nack has taken up residence in Silver's basement. After yelling at Silver for some privacy, he raids the house's fridge. Silver calls Tails after an unsuccessful call to the police and the gang overhears him revealing Nack's whereabouts. They go to Silver's and subdue Nack who confesses to the murder, but he didn't frame Sonic for it. The group determines that the eyewitness accounts must have been sketchy before beating the stuffing out of Nack. Sonic is released from prison, and the first thing he does is hug and kiss Amy. Sonic is overjoyed to see that Amy gave Nack his just desserts. They drive off to Home Depot where together they buy a John Deere riding lawnmower. One week later, Sonic shows Tails and Cream the job he did with it. They decide to have a barbecue together to celebrate Sonic's name being cleared.
