Episode 723 - An Unsafe Haven
Taped: 7/21/2024
Plot:
The gang is at Station Square's Classics studio, cleaning up after another successful show. A production assistant tells them that someone named "Gary" is at the front desk. Sonic comes over and discovers that "Gary" is actually Drew Carey who comes with bad news. There has been an earthquake in Southern California and that Haven Studios needs to be renovated. Drew wants to know if the Classics studio can accommodate tapings of The Price is Right for the time being. Sonic rushes over and informs the gang of Drew's presence. They all pitch in and agree to help Drew out because of all the things Bob Barker did for them. However, this also means that they have to create props for the entire show from scratch because the studio at Haven is inaccessible. To make matters worse, the new season starts taping in a week. Sonic invites Drew who notices that the studio has a layout very similar to Studio 33. Sonic and the gang think they can make it work, so they call for as much help as they can to get involved. The days pass, and everyone does their fair share from the showcase podiums to the One Bid to some of the pricing games. Tails gets some displays going, Sonic builds some frames, Cream gets some sound and music cues in order, and Rouge does makeup research for the models. Espio and Vector play with the 3 Strikes balls, hitting Sonic with one. Mighty gets in on the action, making a bet with Vector over the Rat Race rats. The group also learns how to set the stage for Drew and the models along with getting all the podiums in order. The day before taping starts, Drew gets everybody together for a dress rehearsal. They discover that Hole in One has no golf clubs, so they have Vector go outside of the studio to buy some. He wonders if they can have that be a prize later on. Sonic misses his first put thanks to Vector sneezing, but he nails it the second time. Sonic, Tails, and Drew look around the stage, impressed that they were able to turn it into The Price is Right on such short notice. Sonic's children, Lucy, and Platinum are hired as pages and audience warmup. The adults get everything together before the first episode starts with George announcing the slate and Sonic counting down the seconds. Cream cues up the sounds while Knuckles and Shadow set up the cameras. Espio gives Drew a glass of water before Cheese opens the door. Drew thanks Sonic and his friends for allowing the show to tape in Station Square. Despite a few hiccups, such as Knuckles misspelling the name of Cliffhangers, the show goes rather smoothly. After the first taping wraps, Drew congratulates everyone for a job well done while the gang cleans up. Tails thinks Bob would be proud of them, prompting the gang to toast him. Bob's angel appears and winks at them before disappearing.
