Episode 715 - How the Mighty Have Fallen
Taped: 3/24/24
Plot:
Mighty reveals his new Fender "P-bass" with tortoise shell pick guard while Charmy spices up his drum. Vector cuts the Chaotix rehearsal short, saying they have a case. They have to go to the dump to find a murder victim's dismembered body parts. Mighty isn't excited about the prospect of going, particularly when he has to drive. He shakily goes over to the van, stalling long enough for Chaotix to invite Charisma. Mighty pretends that the car won't start, but Espio turns the ignition. He then drives so slow that a paperboy on a bicycle passes him. After the other team members yell at him, Vector gets them there at lightning speed. Mighty stays in the van while the rest of the team starts looking for the body parts. Charmy stays behind for a bit to talk some sense into Mighty, but Mighty's having none of it. To drive the point across, Espio falls in garbage laughing at Vector for getting his tail pulled. Charisma tags along, digging and taking pictures. In no time, they've reconstructed almost all of the body. Before they can get it back to headquarters, Mighty drives away without them. They consider finding some other way to get the body parts back but figure finding Mighty is more important. Mighty gets pulled over for speeding, and the officer suspects that he's doing drugs. He arrests Mighty and takes him to jail. Minutes later, Chaotix comes cross an empty van in front of a shopping center. Despite the car being on the curb instead of the parking lot, they decide to look inside the stores. After coming up empty, they discover a tow truck getting ready to impound the van. Vector proves he's the owner with his registration and paying the towing fee on the spot. Mighty exhibits strange behavior while in the holding cell. None of the officers are aware that he's overdosed on Prozac thanks to Charmy setting up his schedule incorrectly. After Mighty calms down enough to explain, Chaotix comes into clear Mighty's name. They did all the analyzing in the van, and it turns out the officer who arrested Mighty committed the murder. He accidentally killed someone backing out, so he tore up the body and scattered the parts in the dump. Chaotix returns home to resume playing their music. Mighty starts a bassline with his P-bass, but Charmy breaks his drum pedal during the ensuing jam session.
