Amy suggests that the two get a real tree and ditch the Douglas Fir one. Sonic does so with the promise of teaching Flash to use a chainsaw. Amy only wants Sonic and Flash to come back in one piece. They go to the department store where Amy first got her signature red dress. Amy picks out a few dresses for Amber to try while Amber picks out one of her own. Amber is shocked at Amy's choices with Amy saying it's a generation thing. Amy is shocked at how loud Amber's dress is, but she pays for it anyway. Their next stop is an antique store which Amy likes to browse. Amy sees all the toys and games she used to play with Jenny, but Amber isn't too impressed. Sonic and Flash go to a Christmas tree farm where an overweight hick leads them inside. Sonic isn't sure if they should stay in as long as possible or if they should get the hunt over with. Flash points out a good one, but a bird lives on one of its branches. Sonic goes to inspect it, but the bird pecks him into a thorn bush. Sonic says he should claim it was a chainsaw accident, but Flash doesn't think it's a good idea. Amber drags Amy to a sushi place which Amy is reluctant about trying. Amber tries an assortment of sushi with Amy hiding her disgust about the samples she's eating. Their next stop is a winter festival where they look at some ice sculptures. They then stop to watch a rock concert there which is too loud for Amber. The tree farm is closing, but Sonic also been attacked by bees while looking for a tree. Flash points out a tree which Sonic decides to cut down. The farmer offers to cut it for him, but Sonic does it himself. Sonic is successful, but he also shreds his wallet in the process. The farmer says he accepts electronic payment methods, saying he's adapted to the 21st century, which surprises Sonic. He then saves some money by having the farmer haul the tree into the bed of his truck. Amy apologizes for her day not living up to Amber's expectations, but Amber thanks Amy for at least trying. Amy realizes that Amber isn't her little girl anymore and tells her that boys will be chasing her soon. Amy then confesses that she wishes that Amber wasn't her only daughter; she wanted Sonic Jr. to be a girl and not getting to keep Stevie sometimes eats her up inside. Amber says she doesn't mind being the only girl, and the two hug. Amy has a request: that Amber's first child be a daughter so she can be spoiled rotten. Amy then throws her list out and takes Amber to get accessories and some new makeup up for the holiday dance coming up. Amy comes home to find that the tree Sonic picked out is too big for the house. Amy offers some trimming suggestions, but Sonic is sure he can get it in as is. Amy then introduces Amber whom Sonic and Flash agree is growing as a woman. A few days pass, and Amber leaves for her dance. Sonic and Amy look at the tree which has been trimmed with Amy's suggestions. A bird then flies out of the tree and starts pecking Sonic again.
