Episode 676 - Don't Drag Me into This
Taped: 2/19/23
Plot:
Amy visits Cream who's doing graphic design for an improv comedy troupe. She comes back just in time for Jenny to bring Jessie over to her house. Jenny says she has a surprise for Amy and Sonic, but it's not family-friendly. Amy and Sonic turn it down, prompting Jenny to explain what's in store. It all started when Bark got hooked on RuPaul's Drag Race. Bark gets caught putting on Jenny's makeup, but she offers to beautify him once he explains. The days pass, and Bark moves to putting on dresses and choosing a drag name: Beara Cuda. He also enlists Jenny's help in making him act more feminine. Jenny is reluctant, especially when Jessie asks what he's doing, but she obliges because it makes him happy. Sonic and Amy accept Jenny's invitation to Bark's first drag show. They also invite Cream and Tails along for the ride. They're seated at the venue and watch the first performer. Tails has flashbacks of the times Sonic had him wear dresses when they were kids. The next performer is Bark whose performance makes Tails even more uncomfortable. Bark dances right near Sonic, making Amy crack up. Tails tries to call the police, but he drops his phone and it gets intercepted by Cream. Bark does the same thing to Tails which nauseates Cream. Amy has to tell her it's all part of the show. Tails does like the ending where Bark boops him on the nose. By the time it's over, Sonic and Tails have grown to accept Bark's decision to perform. They take Bark to Sonic's house where they introduce what Bark does to the kids. Lightning, Amber, and Flash are intrigued by it, but Sonic Jr. is uncomfortable. Bark explains the process, but Sonic Jr. still isn't on board with it. He becomes just fine after Bark puts on normal clothes. Bark says he misses dressing like a man anyway, at least until his next show. That evening, Sonic Jr. ask Sonic why he got in trouble one time for trying Amber's clothes but everyone was fine with Bark doing the same thing. Sonic explains that Jr. was only in trouble because he didn't ask permission to wear Amber's clothes, not because of the act itself. Jr. understands but then goes on to ask why so many people hate what Bark does. Sonic explains in such a way that Sonic Jr. can understand; it's because they're just hateful and have insecurities of their own. Sonic Jr. reveals that he only disapproved of Bark because he thought drag was wrong since he got in trouble before, not realizing why. He then says that he's warmed up to what Bark does now that he understands why it's not wrong and, with Sonic's permission, watches drag shows on his phone.
