Episode 671 - Put Me Out of My Mystery
Taped: 1/15/23
Plot:
Chaotix investigates a crime scene involving a rope being shoved down a victim's throat and through the other end. Charmy guesses that the culprit is one of their allies, to which Vector, Espio, and Eric tell him to shut up. Their DNA ties into Old Man Jenkins, whom they arrest and take down to the station. Later on, they get a call about a bank being robbed. The manager shows them the security tape, and the thief leaves behind a lot of telltale marks. They immediately discover him to be Eggman, whom they arrest in his lair. After a few days of increased crime-solving, Vector staggers out of his room for breakfast one morning. He dribbles coffee all over himself and falls asleep in his chair. Chaotix gets a call about a disturbance at the middle school, and they are forced to leave a sleeping Vector behind. Vanilla and Cream keep vigil over Vector, saying he's been overwhelmed by work. Vector dreams of being Henry from Thomas the Tank Engine. He refuses to come out of a tunnel after a rainstorm on Sir Topham Hatt's orders. No one can move him from the tunnel, so they decide to remove the tracks and brick him inside. Vector makes fun of the narrator, Ringo Starr, as the dream sequence ends. Vector and Vanilla pick up Vector and carry him to his bed. Meanwhile, the rest of Chaotix arrives at the middle school which has been evacuated. A crazy naked man has been walking in circles on top of the roof. Espio climbs to the roof, turns invisible and grabs his ankles. He then handcuffs the man who turns out to be a drugged former employee. Chaotix returns to their headquarters where Vector is still asleep. This time, Vector has a dream about Vanilla as an angel. When he gets close enough, she turns into a devil. Vector tries to run, but the ground opens up beneath him, and he plunges into Hell. He wakes up screaming which frightens Charmy who was there to check on him, and he is relieved to see that it was all just a dream. Chaotix says that they solved a case without Vector which puzzles him. Charisma then comes in and gives her own details about what happened at school. Vector thanks Chaotix for their help and decides to take a personal day. He takes Vanilla and Charisma on a train ride across the countryside. The narrator, Michael Angelis, then says the family had a good time together.
Fun Facts:
In the first case seen in the episode, the rope being flossed through someone's entire body is a reference to a 'Whose Line is it Anyway?' sketch.
