Episode 651 - Go for a Spin
Taped: 8/7/22
Plot:
The crew wraps up after a taping of TNAoSTH Classics. Knuckles is worried about their short based on Schindler's List, but Sonic tells him not to worry since their show doesn't have Standards & Practices. Unfortunately, they can't leave the studio because it's raining too hard outside. Sonic thinks they can shoot more material until the storm passes. Cream says that they should pitch show-based spin-offs since they enjoy doing parodies so much. The others agree, so they present their ideas while the crew is striking the Classics set.
Kidna Kop (Knuckles): Kidna Kop (Knuckles) and Sidekick Sonic (Sonic) are duo crime-fighters in 70s Station Square. Knuckles says it's too quiet, to which Sonic likens to a Discotheque at 8:00 AM. They come across Cream walking by herself and offer her a ride. While driving her home, they happen across a bank robbery. Eggman comes out, threatening Kidna Kop and Sidekick Sonic with a gun. They have a shootout which ends when Eggman's gun jams. Kidna Kop takes Eggman down and subdues him. He then drives Cream back, apologizing that the day had more excitement than intended.
Hedgehog (Sonic): Sonic opens with a stand-up routine about the time he got busted for speeding while he was running on a highway. He gets chirping crickets when he was expecting the laugh track. The real episode begins when Sonic complains to Tails that the rent for his apartment just went up again. Knuckles then bursts in, proclaiming he has a get-rich-quick idea. He recruits Sonic and Tails for his apartment-cleaning business. Amy doesn't think it will work, but Sonic and Tails give it a go. Their first client is an elderly woman named Mrs. Thompson. While cleaning her apartment, they destroy her painting from France. Their attempts to clean it up only make it worse. Luckily, she doesn't seem to notice it. However, Tails points it out, leaving the business $500 down. Tails says Sonic and Knuckles will be in debt, because he's quitting.
Amy (Amy): Talk show host Amy invites Tails onto the stage. He talks about having two tails and using them to fly. After flying around the studio, Amy gives Tails the keys to his new car. After the break, Amy brings a new guest onto the show: Platinum. Amy asks him why he's so unique, and he says that he's half hedgehog and half cat. Platinum also summons balls of fire, juggles them, and puts them out by levitating a pitcher of water. Amy gives Platinum a new Hyundai for his special talents. Amy's last guest is Bark the Polar Bear. Bark says that he doesn't have any special talents or abilities. He's just a gay polar bear. Amy decides to give him a Toyota just for that, prompting Bark to leave in disgust.
The Prower Show (Tails): Tails walks in on Miles having some fried chicken. He says to save him some, and Miles says he'll leave a thigh since that's his favorite piece. Big Scugg (Sonic) invites Tails to go pub crawling with him. Tails asks permission from Cream before leaving with Sonic. Their first stop is a hipster bar where Big Scugg orders a flight of drinks with trendy names. Tails becomes drunk after one sip and finds a woman to take home with him. Big Scugg does the same, and they take their women home while Cream is out of town. Cream comes back, and Big Scugg comes up with a diversion. Tails escapes with the women, and Big Scugg lies that all their clothes are at the dry cleaners. Tails comes back home, backing up Big Scugg by saying the cleaning's going to take more time than they thought. After Big Scugg leaves, Cream smells perfume. Tails says he bought her some, to which Cream says she doesn't use any. One woman, Britney, comes to retrieve her lost phone. Tails claims that she was just a Jehovah's Witness, but Cream isn't fooled. Cream repeatedly ear-slaps Tails to end the episode.
Cream's Magic Forest (Cream): Cream greets the boys and girls at home watching her show. She asks Mr. Handy (Knuckles) to come out and greet the day despite the puppet missing an eye. Sonic then comes in followed by Tails dressed as an elf, ready to tell a story. His story is about Rouge the Bat and her love for stealing, jewels, and both. In the story, Rouge happens upon a jewelry store and ogles the most expensive diamond in the lot. She hacks into the supply closet and changes into an employee's uniform. She lies that the diamond has imperfections and offers to take it to be discarded. Unfortunately, a real employee (Amy) catches her in the act. Amy thwarts her escape plan by having her crash into a street light. Amy is lauded as a hero while Rouge goes to jail. Cream relays the moral of the story: stealing is wrong.
The rain stops outside, and the gang is greeted by a rainbow. They then skip down an impromptu yellow brick road to Oz.
