Episode 642 - Anger Management
Taped: 5/6/22
Plot:
Knuckles does some research on his MacBook at 5:30 in the morning, printing pages every so often. The smell from the coffee pot he ruined in the process wakes up Rouge who comes downstairs, wondering what he's doing. Knuckles says he's doing some research because Locke is pushing 80. Knuckles wants to be sure that Locke enjoys being a grandfather while he still can without any extra hassles. The pages he's printing are for Locke's benefit, hoping that he'll have less stress in his life and live to see Roger and Wynona become guardians. Knuckles asks Rouge for her opinion, but she slinks back to bed without him noticing. Knuckles takes his printed pages over to Locke who insists that his anger is under control. However, it's already too late as Knuckles reveals that he signed him up for anger management classes without his consent. Locke tells him he's not going despite Knuckles saying it'll be good for him. Later that day, Knuckles tells Wyn what to expect for Locke's anger management sessions. Wyn promises to be there for him, only because he's got a few years ahead of him for an advantage. Despite Knuckles' expectations, Locke does show up to the first meeting. He meets Mark Hedgefield who's there so he can he can fulfill his obligations to see Lucy and Matthias again. Espio then comes forward, saying he's the moderator for the class. Locke makes fun of him, prompting Espio to tell him his first step is limiting his sarcasm. Espio gets to know Locke and Mark more, despite neither of them wanting to be in class. Espio assures them that they'll change in the next coming weeks. After a few sessions, Knuckles and Mace wonder if it's doing Locke any good as the former helps the latter install a dishwasher. The brothers set off to find out how Locke has made out with his courses. Knuckles tests his theory by giving Locke a birthday present: a picture of himself, Rouge, and their kids. He then invites Locke for a barbecue. However, it's not at his house but rather Wyn's. Locke doesn't want to stay but Knuckles drags him to the backyard anyway. Locke eventually agrees to stay but gets impatient over Wyn apparently taking too long with the steaks. However, Locke calms down when Roger and Wynona make their presence known. While Locke plays with Roger and Wynona, Wyn admits to Knuckles that his idea to put Locke in anger management actually worked for once. Espio then reveals himself to Wyn and Knuckles, saying that he had been secretly spying on Locke. Espio then reveals an incident from class where Locke punched his balls so hard that he now has to hide them from the top of his head with a hat. Locke comes over to tell them he has self-control; he just uses it whenever he feels like it. He then sarcastically thanks Wyn for the steaks before leaving. That night, Knuckles admits that his anger management idea was half-proven because of how he handled himself at the barbecue. Knuckles worries that he'll wake up old just like Locke someday, to which Rouge tells him he'll always be the same to her. Knuckles and Rouge then go to Big Bullseye to replace the coffee pot Knuckles broke.
