Episode 546 - Tis the Season to be PC
Taped: 12/27/19
Plot:
Sonic shows Lightning the present he got for Amy, a walk-in wine refrigerator for the basement. It was her idea despite not being able to drink while while carrying Swen and Eric's baby. Sonic then tells Lightning to hang in there because it's his last day of school before the Christmas party. Lightning meets Lucy after art class and they kiss under Lightning's print-out of mistletoe. Their day is interrupted by a PA announcement for an emergency assembly. The principal announces that for the sake of political correctness, the Christmas party has been renamed to a holiday party. This means all mentions of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and the like are banned from the party, and anyone caught with anything Christmas related at the party will be banned. Lightning and Lucy agree that they need to fix this with the former saying his connections with Cream as the Easter Bunny will fix things. After school, Lightning helps Sonic load the oversized wine refrigerator onto his truck to take it back for exchange. Sonic admits that Amy wants a smaller one having found out about the gigantic one. Sonic takes Lightning and Lucy to Tails' house where Cream has surprised Tails with a new Tesla in the driveway. Cream calls Santa using her Skype app and they tell him what the school did to their Christmas party. In the blink of an eye, Santa arrives in his sleigh due to being so fast delivering presents on Christmas Eve. Santa invites everybody to hop on board and find the faculty responsible for changing the party. Lightning asks to drive the sleigh and Santa allows him despite bungling the names of the reindeer. Santa also lets him turn on the stereo and magics up a hot chocolate for Sonic. Lightning parks the sleigh outside of the gym, and Santa blasts open the door by kicking it. Principal Barnes confesses that it was the superintendent's idea to change the party and not his own. He shows the group a printed email he received from the superintendent, whom they recognize as Dr. Kinsler: Billy's father. Santa drives them over to Dr. Kinsler's house where the superintendent reveals that he didn't cancel the party because it had Christmas in its name. Dr. Kinsler actually canceled the party because Billy has been the worst he's ever been all year. Santa takes off his belt and starts whipping Billy as hard and as fast as he can. Sonic questions Dr. Kinsler's parenting skills, and the superintendent admits it had to come to this since he couldn't lay a finger on Billy. Billy complains about his sore posterior and that he can't even tell if he soiled himself. Santa gives him another whip for the language. With the disciplinary action complete, Dr. Kinsler announces that the party is on again. The following evening, Lightning and Lucy notice Billy at the party all alone. Billy apologizes for being a bully, saying he couldn't help who he was until Santa set him straight. Lightning and Lucy ask him what he'd like to be when he grows up, but Billy isn't quite sure. Santa drops him a hint in the form of a present: a physics book about destruction. Amy is thrilled with the small wine refrigerator Sonic bought her for a Christmas present, telling him she can't wait to start drinking again. Tails takes Sonic for a spin in his new Tesla where they make fun of people getting gas and play Cuphead on the car's console.
Fun Facts:
It's revealed that Billy's last name is Kinsler and his father is the superintendent of the school district. Tails now has a red 2020 Tesla Model 3. It's also revealed that the middle school principal's name is Mr. Barnes.
