Episode 524 - Pollution Protrusion
Taped: 6/21/19
Plot:
Amy is helping Cream figure out why she has no water in her house as Sam wants to play with his Slip 'n' Slide. After no luck with the hose at her own house, she suggests Cream call the water company. Cream does just that and the representative informs her that they are in the process of connecting to a new water treatment plant and should have things back up and running in a matter of hours. A few hours pass and the water is restored. All is well as Sam finally takes his first slide but things quickly turn sour when the water turns to stinky black goo. Cream calls the water company again and the representative informs her that they've been receiving hundreds of calls and are working on a solution. Amy returns from a trip to Mobi-Mart with several jugs and bottles of water. She reveals to Tails and Cream that Twinkle Park along with every restaurant in Station Square has closed due to lack of water leaving the city in a panic. They decide to get to the bottom of things so Amy makes a trip to see Rouge who checks GUN's computer system for any possible leads. She discovers that the new water treatment plant is in the Mystic Ruins which makes Eggman their prime suspect. Amy and Rouge check out the facility but a friendly worker there assures them that nothing is amiss and shows them that the water coming from the plant is crystal clear and perfectly safe. Amy returns to Cream with this information so they instead try Chaotix's computer system instead and discover that a sewage treatment plant has also opened up. This raises their suspicions even higher as they believe this may be the source of the black goo. They set out to investigate but little do they know that Eggman is already there gloating about how he was successfully able to switch the pipes leading to the water plant and the sewage plant with the intention of making Sonic's life miserable upon his return from Japan. Unbeknownst to him, Rouge has spied on him and sets off to find the pipes and attempt to switch them back. Just then, Amy and Cream break down the door with Cheese in tow. Eggman initially doesn't believe they'll be able to hurt him but he is quickly proven wrong when Amy hammers him relentlessly with Cream delivering a series of Thundershoots. Cheese flies off to aid Rouge and they quickly finds the pipes hidden behind a Trump 2020 billboard, the one place nobody would think to look. They shut off the valves and Rouge switches the pipes back to their correct configuration with a nearby wrench that Cheese managed to find. Back at the sewage plant, Eggman is down for the count just as Rouge and Cheese return triumphant. Everyone returns home as Sam finally gets to play with this Slip 'n' Slide. Amy and Cream chuckle at the pictures Sonic has sent from Japan as Tails tries out the slide for himself but overshoots the end and gets covered in a giant grass stain. Amy seizes the opportunity to snap a picture and send it to Sonic who immediately responds with "lol what a dumbass."
