Episode 519 - Black Hole in One
Taped: 4/26/2019
Plot:
Shadow looks at Sonic's computer which hasn't been updated in over 10 years since it still has Windows Vista. He and Cream agree that Sonic should at least get a computer with Windows 10 because Amy and Lightning have technology more advanced than him. Shadow makes his decision easier by throwing out his desktop completely, with Sonic saying he'd better find him a replacement. Just then, Black Doom appears, ordering Shadow to compete in a golf tournament or he will destroy Mobius. Shadow admits that he doesn't know how to play golf, but Sonic thinks either Bob Barker or Adam Sandler can teach him. Cream says the former would be a better bet, prompting Sonic to quip that she just wants another $500 from him. They call him while he's out shopping at Mobi-Mart and he agrees to help before throwing to commercial. After the break, Bob invites Sonic and friends to his house where he meets Shadow and trades insults with him. Bob then takes Shadow to his own personal putting green where music cues from The Price is Right accompany them as they walk over there. Bob then proceeds to host the entirety of the Hole in One pricing game for an outdated car using his backyard decor as props. Sonic and Shadow stress the whole time that they need for the latter to learn as quickly as possible and rush through the motions. After Bob does his inspirational putt, Shadow misses his first from the furthest line. He then sinks his second putt, upon which Bob throws to commercial. Bob admits that he had Shadow play an imaginary session of Hole in One for fun, much to the anger of Sonic and Shadow. To compensate, Bob takes them to the golf course where he shows Shadow the basics. It turns out Bob really is prolific in golf and, after some practice holes, becomes Shadow's personal coach. The next morning, Shadow tells Black Doom he accepts the challenge, so he transports them to the Black Comet where the match takes place. To everyone's surprise, Black Doom gets a hole in one on the first nine holes while Shadow struggles to keep up. Shadow believes the only way to win would be to throw Black Doom off balance. Bob, meanwhile, infers that Black Doom could be cheating somehow and agrees with Shadow's idea to interfere with the trajectory of the ball. They can pull it off by using Sonic's speed and Cream's flight to alter the path of Black Doom's shots. Their first attempt sends Black Doom's 10th hole drive in the rough, and they continue working on their plan through the 18th hole. Black Doom catches on and summons a windstorm to knock Sonic and Cream out of the picture so he can make par. Shadow makes a desperation shot and sinks a hole in one for the tie. Bob Barker throws to commercial again and decides to settle this once and for all with a Showcase Showdown spinoff, with the higher number deciding the fate of Mobius. Black Doom's spin lands on 95¢, but Shadow hits the dollar and saves Mobius with an extra $1,000. He doesn't get any extra money with his Bonus Spin and ends his participation by Chaos Controlling everyone home before Bob can vamp to commercial. Undeterred, Bob gives his pet population speech before walking off. Tails shows Sonic the new computer he set up just for him, revealing that he went all out so he can adjust to the technology. Shadow sees Sonic's failure to find the power button as his cue to leave.
