Taped: 11/26/17
Plot:
While Thanksgiving dinner is cooking, Amy has Sonic recount what happened yesterday, having to get a turkey in the midst of a farmers' strike. Sonic turns on a news report covering the strike and vows to get a turkey for the family. He brings along Lightning, Sonia, and Manic, and they all pile in his truck in search of a turkey. They decide to stop at Mobi-Mart first whose manager gives him the farm that provides the turkeys, Gobbledy Brook. She also tells the group that Gobbledy Brook is the only supplier for Station Square and that they're the ones responsible for the shortage. The four decides to take the drive together, only to find the most direct way blocked due to fiberglass debris on the road. The state trooper who stopped them gives a detour which Manic takes down on his cell phone. They stop off at an old gas station that has products not seen since the 1980s before coming to a fork in the road. Manic's directions give conflicting names so they pull over near a dog-walking passerby who tells them the correct route. The come upon a wind farm only to be block by a guard at gate who tells them the road is closed and directs them down an alternate route. Unfortunately, a wrong turn sends them driving through an endless tunnel and into an area populated by Amish. Since they don't take kindly to Sonic's family being "English," they attempt to pin the truck down buy raising a barn around it and setting it on fire. Sonic bursts out of the barn and the Amish give chase with horses and buggies serving as police vehicles. They catapult horse droppings onto the truck before sending a wood helicopter after the car. The chase ends when police from the next town over shoot down the Amish copter. Despite the horse droppings on the truck, they are friendly enough to direct Sonic over to Gobbledy Brook. Sonic finds his way blocked again by picketers, calling Mobi-Mart unfair. Sonic asks if the farm ever tried to contact Mobi-Mart, to which the farm owner says they haven't. Sonic offers to call Mobi-Mart with the promise that if he can negotiate a fairer deal for the turkeys, the farm will give him one on the house. Sonic calls Mobi-Mart's manager and asks if they can provide a rate increase, without clarifying per pound or per turkey. The farm's owner is at first ecstatic until Lightning points out that Sonic needs to point out the deal he just made. Upon calling again, the manager offers to increase the farm's rate per pound again, to which he accepts. The farm's owner is so pleased that he tells Sonic he'll rename the farm in his honor and send him home with a free turkey. Sonic closes the story just as the turkey is ready to be served. Since he wants to let Tails be a part of Thanksgiving dinner, Sonic lets him carve the turkey. Back at the farm, the owner reconsiders naming the business after Sonic and retains the original name.
