Episode 429 - Taste the Rainbow
Taped 3/19/17
Plot:
Espio walks through the swamp to Manic and Sonia's house and knocks on the door. Espio invites the pair over to Station Square for their Irish Festival and they accept. When they arrive at the festival, Mayor O'Brien thanks all the Irish in spirit for coming and announces the roster for the day. He then gives the rules for the eating contest which Espio has spent weeks for preparing, even tripling Chaotix's food bill to do so. While Espio goes to get his number, the cook cuts himself with a knife and has to get a band-aid. Eggman sneaks into the kitchen unnoticed and slips some drugs into the food matching Espio's number. Espio starts eating the food and, imagining the food to be bottomless, eats faster. He then mistakes a judge with an eye patch for a pirate and waves his fork at him as he continues to eat. He then sees more pirates coming towards him and grabs his plate of food, thinking he should bury it. After being chased away by the cook, a security guard gives Espio the taser treatment after refusing to put down his knife and show his hands. Manic and Sonia suspect something is wrong with Espio and they encounter Eggman disguised as a doctor who tells them that Espio might have to go to a psychiatric center. Before leaving, Eggman injects more drugs into Espio who strips down and runs away from the festival. Espio comes across a 7-Eleven where he mistakes the Indian owner for Aladdin and demands to know where he's hiding his lamp. The owner calls police who give Chaotix a lead into finding Espio. They meet Manic and Sonia at the dock where Espio, still thinking he's a pirate, steals a boat and drives it towards some rocks. They figure they may need to fool him into thinking Vector is a crocodile so Flavor Flav, who is there for no obvious reason, gives his clock to the group. Espio comes across Eggman dressed as Peter Pan who gives him a concoction containing more drugs but Vector smacks it away. Sonia distracts him with her keyboard and Charmy stings his eyes, blinding him. Vector then tackles him and brings him back to dry land where Chaotix applies antidote as they drive him home. Espio comes to as his normal self again with Charmy explaining he learned to poison himself the same way whenever he had too much drugs. With the gang relieved to have him back, they have an Irish party of their own. Espio shies away from beer after the experience and drinks a root beer float made by Sonia instead. Eric pays tribute to Seamus by singing an old Irish folk song.
Fun Facts:
The song Eric sings is not an actual Irish folk song but rather a song improved by Junkaholic95. The chorus is inspired by the song "Botany Bay."

"The Dancing Girl from Dublin" by Eric Prower Lyrics: There once was a young lass with pretty red hair A regular old Irish girl Some folks found her homely and some found her plain But the boys loved her pretty red curls She danced in the morning, she danced through the night She danced giving nary a care She danced to and fro and she'd give quite a show And her voice filled the fresh Dublin air Singing too-ra-li, too-ra-li, too-ra-li-ay Singing too-ra-li, too-ra-li, too-ra-li-ay Singing too-ra-li, too-ra-li, too-ra-li-ay Singing too-ra-li, too-ra-li, too-ra-li-ay |
