Episode 409 - TNAoSTH Classics 5
Taped 10/9/16
Plot:
Junkaholic comes in disguised as Knuckles which raises suspicion for Sonic . They open the show with Junkaholic announcing that it's his birthday and that it will feature shorts from the 1920s through the 1960s. Junkaholic assures Sonic that Knuckles is fine but Junkaholic has really tied him up in his closet.
My Dear Hedgie (1929): In this parody of a 1920s silent film, Amy is washing clothes when Sonic dances on the scene, telling her that Big Bad Botnik is finally behind bars. Amy tells Sonic to marry her and they have 27 kids together. Amy is happy but Sonic chuckles nervously, saying he really gets around.
Gone Like the Wind (1939): In this parody of the 1939 classic Gone with the Wind, Vector has to fight in the civil war and Vanilla and Cream do everything they can to convince him to stay. Just as he is about to join the battalion, the film ends, giving Sonic and Junkaholic the impression that no one who made the film saw Gone with the Wind.
Song of South Island (1946): In this parody of the 1946 Disney film "Song of the South," Uncle Shadow introduces himself to child versions of Sonic, Tails and Cream and tells them the tale of Brer Hedgehog and Brer Eggman. Brer Eggman is objected by Brer Hedgehog constantly eating chili dogs. Brer Hedgehog says he's found his laughing place doing so and offers to help brer Eggman find his. Brer Hedgehog leads him Brer Eggman inside a cave where Charmy stings him repeatedly. Uncle Shadow tells the children that Brer Hedgehog found his laughing place and that they need songs in their hearts in order to find theirs.
Quiz Me Up (1958): In this parody of 1950s game shows, Sonic and Tails take part in the only surviving episode of Quiz Me Up hosted by Hugh Downs with Don Pardo as the announcer. Sonic and Tails are placed in isolation booths with a sudden death quiz theme. Correct answers add $10 to the pot and whoever answers wrong first loses. They work the pot up to $190 with Sonic being given the answers and Tails given a very hard question as his last. Sonic wins and Tails is thrown in a barracuda pit.
The Hedgehog Bunch (1969): In this parody of the 1969 series "The Brady Bunch," Sonic comes home from work to Amy, his six children (including Charisma and Lucy) and Elaine who is making dinner. Amber complains about how smart Lucy is as she goes to finish her book report. In a fit of excitement, Flash knocks over a vase, forgetting that Amy doesn't allow running in the house. As punishment, Flash has to go to the chamber of fire, something Lightning has already been through. Lightning passes out but the family's cousin Platinum arrives as a replacement. The series is immediately cancelled after that.
Knuckles, finally free, beats up Junkaholic for tying him up. He then sees all the birthday paraphernalia and Sonic tells him that he just punched the birthday boy. They then awkwardly say goodbye.
