Episode 389 - E-Kidna in the Hizzouse
Taped: 5/15/16
Plot:
Knuckles and Rouge carry Roger and Wynona to bed as they begin to fuss. Rouge gets the idea to have Knuckles tell them a bedtime story. Knuckles proceeds to make up a rhyme about an old lady cleaning her kitchen, going to the bathroom, and making soup. Rouge likes the silly story and jokes that Knuckles should make a hip-hop album. Thinking she's serious, Knuckles immediately decides to do just that and makes his way to Mobi-Mart in search of equipment. The less than helpful front desk clerk initially points Knuckles to a rack of onions before directing him to the electronics department. There, another overly enthusiastic employee rattles off a list of really expensive and overly complicated equipment and software that comes with a 1,000-page manual. Knuckles eyes up a Macbook and a cheap microphone that comes with a 10-page pamphlet and opts for that instead. He returns home and sets up his makeshift recording studio in the laundry room and begins to come up with songs. He pushes through the night until 5am when Rouge wakes up to find him missing from their bed. As Knuckles finishes playing back his final recording, he saves the last song and burns all 10 of his tracks to a CD. Moments later, Rouge finds him as he gleefully reveals his creation. He pops the CD into their stereo and Rouge is surprised that he's actually made something good. The first song is a song boasting about how tough he perceives himself to be. The next song is about fabric softener which he admits was a result of not being able to think of a second song and just rapping about what he saw in the laundry room. Knuckles then concludes he should take his CD to Mace to get his idea for an album title. He finds Mace cleaning out the inside of the car Locke had given him 2 weeks prior and is impressed by the progress he's made so far, including the removal of the tree growing from the seat. Knuckles helps Mace install a CD player and plays him the song he wrote about him. The song contains lines about how pathetic Mace was growing up including wetting the bed at age 14½ but also praises him for his relationship with Marine and being Knuckles brother nonetheless. Mace loves the song and after throwing out a few lousy titles, a line from the next song that plays inspires the name "E-Kidna in the Hizzouse" which Knuckles instantly adores. After printing out covers for the 100 CD's he burned, he sets up a booth at the mall and, after waiting several hours, finally sells a copy a piece to Cream and Tails. Cream explains she thinks Chaotix would love to hear his music and plans to give her copy to her father as a gift. Tails hears a very questionable song that Knuckles insists isn't about him despite the blatant references to Tails' unusual anatomy and mysterious bathroom and bedroom habits. Knuckles finally gives up after only 1 more person buys an album, a tourist visiting from India. He returns home disappointed his album only sold 3 copies as Rouge comes in to console him. Roger and Wynona begin to fuss again so Knuckles tells them another bedtime story. This time, however, it's the lyrics to the last song he recorded which turns out to be a love song about how he met Rouge and her delicious chicken wings. Rouge loves it and helps him take Wynona and Roger to bed once more. As they do so, the man from India calls and explains that he's the owner of a music store in Dubai and wishes to purchase the rest of his CD's. Happy with his newfound success in India, Knuckles shows Rouge his new laptop and proclaims he's ready to jump into the world of technology instead of relying on her for everything. He finds that his song "Fab-a-ric Sof-en-ar" has charted in India but when he accidentally clicks on an ad, he's taken to a porn site and is perplexed by what he sees making him appreciate Rouge even more.
Fun Facts:
It's revealed that Knuckles has a natural talent for making up silly rhymes and also doesn't consider himself to be the most technologically oriented person. Adam played Roger and Wynona for this episode due to the extent of Knuckles' dialog.
