Episode 373 - Terror on the Tundra

Plot:
Amy and Cream get ready to go shopping for baby things to prepare for Cream's upcoming arrival with Vanilla watching the kids for them. Sonic and Tails, meanwhile, set off for an excursion in Ice Cap with Shadow Chaos Controlling at the train station to tag along for the journey. They arrive in Mystic Ruins where Tails tells Sonic and Shadow he can't snowboard despite having done so before, but a sign at Ice Cap's entrance shows Sonic and Tails snowboarding on top of a hill, prompting Tails to admit it's simply been so long he doesn't really remember how. Meanwhile in Grand Metropolis, Amy, Jenny, and Cream stop off at Baby Maybe which was formerly an army surplus store as evidenced by its decor. Since Cream doesn't want to know the gender of her child yet, the group is pleased to see that there is a section in the store labeled as "I Don't Know". Sonic, Tails, and Shadow embark in an icy cave where Shadow tests an old spring which surprisingly works too well as it embeds him into a wall. After Sonic and Tails pull him out, they discover behind the sheet of ice is a frozen mastodon. Since the mastodon has been well-preserved in the ice, Shadow decides to Chaos Blast it free making it spring back to life. It then bangs Sonic against the walls with its trunk and escapes, prompting Tails to fly up in the air and check on where he is headed. When he sees the mastodon going to the train station, Shadow Chaos Controls the three there but by that time, the mastodon has already ran down the tracks leading to Station Square. Tails suggests refreezing the mastodon and Shadow says they can do so with the help of some freeze balls concocted by the doctor. Sonic remembers his battle against Chaos 6 which prompts Shadow to head for the Eggman's base. Having arrived in Station Square, the mastodon has speeds down the highway toward Grand Metropolis and eventually finds itself at Baby Maybe where Cream is trying on maternity dresses. However, the mastodon stops to wrap its trunk around Cream's belly with the gang unable to figure out why. Sonic and Shadow are stopped by their plan to freeze the mastodon when Amy tells them they just can't unfreeze them for the rest of time. They decide to have Silver come on over and Chronos Control him to the time period he came from instead. Silver tags along with the mastodon for the journey but not before also taking a beating with its trunk. After Silver Chronos Controls back to the present, he sees Cream in her new maternity dress and Tails compliments on how pretty it looks on her. Shortly after, Vanilla returns with the kids, having seen the story of the mastodon on the news and relieved to see that everyone turned out all right. Vanilla then gives Cream an Ice Age movie collection, not realizing what all Cream and her friends had just gone through.
Fun Facts:
Tails and Cream have elected to have their baby's gender be a surprise. It's revealed that Jenny had taken Amy to the same store when she was pregnant with Flash and Amber. It's also revealed that Jenny longs to find the man of her dreams so she can become a mother but has had several failures.
