Episode 350 - TNAoSTH Classics 3
Taped: 8/9/15
Plot:
Knuckles and Sonic open the show by explaining tonight's shorts of the 50s through the 90s.
I Love Lucy (1953): Sonic (Ricky) comes back home to find Amy (Lucy) wants to buy a brand new television set. Despite Sonic's suspicions, he caves in and volunteers to drive off to Sears with Knuckles (Fred Mertz) to pick it up. The men argue and insult each other, causing Amy to volunteer to pick it up with Cream (Ethel). They arrive at Sears to discover, with the help of Tails (salesman), that instead of the 12-inch model, they accidentally bought a jumbotron-sized screen and they have to carry it down the stairs due to the elevator being out of service. Since the TV can't fit in the car, the women have to carry it down the streets of New York. They make it back to the apartment but drop it when they carry it up the stairs. Sonic tells them that a Sears truck already delivered the TV and that Rouge and Amy picked up one for Richards, not Ricardo. The four decide to forget the whole thing and watch Sonic and Amy's new 12-inch television.
The Jetsons (1962): Amy (Jane) is admiring the new dishwasher as Omega (Rosie) prepares dinner while Sonia (Judy) and Lightning (Elroy) help out. Meanwhile, Sonic (George) is at work when Eggman (Spacely) calls Sonic into his office, showing him a square sprocket he created by accident and warns him that one more mistake and he is fired. Fang (inventor) comes over with a new invention, the Do-Over Rover 3000 which will undo any last mistake. Sonic tests this by breaking a car window and a vase at home with the invention working both times. Sonic then volunteers to wash Silver (Astro) but accidentally falls in the tub, getting the Do-Over Rover wet in the process. Sonic tries to undo the mistake but it flashes him back to earlier in the day. The invention suddenly sparks and goes back in time to just after Lightning's birth and just before Sonia's birth which confuses Sonic even more. The invention finally dies when it sends Sonic back to the stone age where Fred Flintstone and The Great Gazoo greet him.
The Gong Show (1977): Charmy (Chuck Barris) introduces the judges to The Gong Show: Rouge (Jaye P. Morgan), Sonic (Jamie Farr) and Tails (Arte Johnson). The first act is Locke (Edgar Flynn) badly playing a sousaphone and Rouge promptly gives him the gong. Then, Shadow, (Gene Gene the Dancing Machine) dances and gets the audience and judges involved with the act with Rouge flashing her boobs. The final act consists of Amy and Jenny (Lisa and Lila Crabtree) simply sucking their lollipops onstage which impresses the male judges and members of the audience. Since they're the only act that didn't get gonged, Charmy declares them winners.
Golden Girls (1989): Butter (Sophia), Vanilla (Dorothy), Lara-Le (Blanche) and Elaine (Rose) gather and all agree that they have a lot to live for despite having lived long. Butter and Elaine recount their dates with a mailman with the latter explaining how hard it was to get him to kiss her. Lara-Le has a similar experience, only ending her tale with a pickup line after they broke up. Butter tells the women about her date in Antonio's, an Italian restaurant, also ending with a bad pun when she turned him down. They decide to go Antonio's together to scout out dates. Every lady finds a date with a member of the staff except Vanilla who gets eyed by a homeless man.
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego (1995): With Chaotix performing as Rockapella, Lightning, Platinum, and Charisma compete and Shadow hosting and Sonia as the chief. Robocrook is the cook of the day, having stolen the CN Tower in Toronto. Lightning is the only one to identify Harrisburg as the capital of Pennsylvania with the other two contestants choosing Philadelphia. Lightning and Platinum eventually advance to the Jailtime Challenge held in New York City. Though Lightning finds the Warrant in Grand Central Station, he did so out of turn. Platinum finds the Loot in the Statue of Liberty, followed by the Warrant, and Robocrook in Yankee Stadium, sending him to jail. At the map, Platinum is initially credited with seven correct map locations but the judges discover a miscount and he wins by placing eight, capturing Carmen and winning a trip to Orlando, Florida for his efforts.
Sonic and Knuckles close out the show as Charmy shows up in his Chuck Barris costume declaring being a game show host high on drugs his new calling. Knuckles quickly shuts him down saying that having Shadow as a game show host is bad enough.
