Episode 348: Game Show Tournament: Week 3
Taped: 7/26/15
Host: Shadow
Announcer: Rich Fields
Match Game Celebs: Bob Barker, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Fannie Flagg, Richard Dawson and Betty White.
To begin the game, Manic misses the definitive answer "Carrier pigeon" for how Old Man Periwinkle used to send messages. Big also misses a definitive answer for Donald Trump's new political party: The Whig Party. In Round 2, Manic matches five stars with "Open Wide" for a question about how a man's dental assistant wife prefers to make love. Big loses when he answers "dancing" to how cheap a woman's date was and matches neither celebrity. Manic matches the top spot "Turner" in the Audience Match: Ted _____. He then wins $5,000 when he matches "Bad" in the answer to Breaking _____ with Richard.
Hollywood Squares Celebs (starting from the top left and going across): Bruce Villanch, Caroline Rhea, Gilbert Gottfried, Penn & Teller, Whoopi Goldberg, Carol Channing, Fran Drescher, Ellen Degeneres and Martin Mull.
-In Round 1, Sonic scores Whoopi when he agrees that a beaver's teeth never stop growing. However, Blaze incorrectly disagrees that Paul Revere was a silver smith in his day job. This allows Sonic to capture the win when he agrees with Fran Drescher that if you're masticating, you're chewing food. Blaze begins the Secret Square on a sour note when she buys Whoopi's bluff that you should address the Queen of England as "Your highness/majesty" when you should not address her unless she addresses you first. Sonic correctly disagrees with Bruce's bluff that you are more likely to win the lottery than become president. Blaze is forced to block with Martin Mull but is unsuccessful when she buys into his bluff that chameleons can change into any color they want (they can only change to blend in with the current environment). Sonic takes advantage by agreeing with Martin that there is nothing dated 1 BC because Christ didn't exist yet. No one picked the Secret Square which was Caroline Rhea. Blaze finally gets a symbol when she agrees with Whoopi Goldberg that a mastodon's name means "nipple tooth". Gilbert tells Sonic that Napoleon's penis was once auctioned off but he incorrectly disagrees, giving Blaze an O in his spot. Blaze then wins the round when she agrees with Fran Drescher that there are four verses in the Star Spangled Banner. That signifies the end of the game with Sonic winning $2,000 over Blaze's $1,000. Sonic then picks up an additional $5,000 when he agrees with Penn & Teller that the difference between frogs and toads is that toads don't croak.
