Episode 342 - Bus Fuss
Taped: 6/14/15
Plot:
Sonic and Amy agree that now is the time for Lighting to start doing things like an adult and the first step would be for him to take the bus to Elaine's house all by himself. Sonic goes upstairs to interrupt Lightning's game but he's thrilled that he is able to ride the bus on his own. However, after they walk him to the bus stop, Sonic realizes too late that he just got on the 40 bus instead of the 14. After a while, Lightning gets off at what he thinks is his stop, only to realize he's now in a bad part of town. Elaine then calls Amy, telling her Lightning never made it to her house. She and Sonic then check the bus schedules and realize that the right bus had already left five minutes prior and that Lightning got on the wrong bus. Sonic prints a map of the bus routes before running off in search of his son. Meanwhile, Lightning asks a drug dealer for directions but he winds up nearly getting shot at before running away. He then comes across an old building where he hides until the police arrive, causing the drug dealer to create a hostage situation. Sonic comes across Charmy who directs him to where Lightning is hiding. However, he can't come any further because he just bought drugs and the police are present. When Sonic overhears the drug dealer threatening to shoot Lightning, he becomes protective and fights the dealer until he is apprehended by the police. After Sonic and Lightning tearfully reunite, Charmy tells them to just call a cab next time due to the unreliable bus system. Charmy then calls on the Chaotix van to pick them up and they ride it over to Elaine's house. Shortly after, Amy and the kids arrive to make sure Lightning got there safely. After the gang leaves Lightning, he and Elaine agree to get pizza and rent movies together.
