Episode 309 - Double Fisting
Taped: 10/19/2014
Plot:
Sonic lets Sonic Jr. hit him over the head with his teddy bear before the family joins together to eat dinner. After they eat, Sonic goes out back to clean up their unfinished barbecue island which had been sitting there since March. Cream then comes over with a freshly-baked chocolate cake while Tails helps Sonic out in the backyard. Knuckles digs through the sidewalk and hits his head on the wheelbarrow. He then watches Sonic try to move all the bricks in the wheelbarrow in one go. Sonic throws out his back and later loses to Tails in an arm-wrestling contest, confirming Knuckles' suspicion that Sonic has no upper-body strength. Knuckles takes Sonic to Angel Island to give him a taste of his diet that makes him so strong. He takes a bite of Rouge's spinach salad with balsamic vinaigrette, a bell pepper and cheese omelet, and whole wheat linguini with home grown tomato sauce. He also gives Sonic a recipe book that Amy can use to adjust his diet accordingly. Amy is flabbergasted that Sonic wants to change his diet but changes her mind when he tells her he lost an arm-wrestling match to Tails. After she reads through the cookbook, he has her make ice cream with skim milk which Espio shows up to try. Sonic gains some visible muscle after few days of diet and exercise, becoming so strong he can lift his own car. He shows off his strength to Cream and Knuckles with the latter being surprised that the diet worked so well. He handily defeats Tails and later Knuckles in arm-wrestling, then Knuckles announces a $1,000-prize fight which Sonic easily accepts. After Sonic leaves to gloat, Knuckles pulls the others aside, telling them him he may have cheated and taken steroids instead. He notices it because the results were almost instant and he's been acting more arrogant than usual. This also means the effects would wear off during the fight and Sonic would collapse in an instant. Sonic's first opponent is Bark the Polar Bear and the fight is evenly matched until Sonic takes offense to Bark's insults. Bark gets the upper hand and knocks Sonic out, giving him some brief amnesia. The gang takes Sonic home were, after some cajoling, he confesses that he was using muscle enhancers. Knuckles tells him if he followed his original plan, he would have become stronger over time. He even brings in Bark who he paid to teach him a lesson. Accepting the prize money, Sonic vows to get in shape the right way, through proper diet and exercise. Bark then reveals that he has become much less hostile over the years and is now engaged just when Sebastian arrives, much to Sonic's dismay. Bark explains to him that someone else is his fiance, Sebastian's brother Derrick. As the story ends, Morgan Freeman gives an epilogue: the setback allowed Sonic to eat right and exercise, Bark called off the engagement and they all lived happily ever after...until the following week.
