Episode 308 - Junkaholic's Damn Show
Taped: 10/12/2014
Plot:
Junkaholic walks up to Sonic's house to tell him of his lifelong dream other than world domination, he wants to host his own late night talk show. Sonic asks to see what he's got but his improvisation material falls flat without a prompt. He then gives a few standup routines, impressing Sonic and Amy with each. After Junkaholic leaves, they tell Tails, Cream, and Knuckles that he has what it takes to go far in show business with the right start. They all head over to meet Junkaholic at the TV studio so they can convince the higher-ups to give him a chance. Junkaholic shows the station manager his demo tape who isn't impressed but gives him a time slot at night. He then calls on the gang to help with production and Chaotix to record a theme song. Meanwhile, Tails and Knuckles design the set, placing where the host's desk, the band, and the sidekick's chair should go. Sonic tests camera angles while Amy organizes the wardrobe for Junkaholic. The next day, the gang sets up for the show and everyone is surprised that Swen has been hired as the sidekick. The show goes smoothly with Junky's opening monologue, sketches, an interview with Nikki Minaj and a performance by Chaotix. Unfortunately, their show was cancelled after one episode because their Ebola joke was "too soon". Despite the failure, Cream's graphic design work gained some attention and Junkaholic can say he got to live his dream of entertaining people. He even thanks the gang for helping him and Amy says he's not such a bad guy after all. His website, however, gains so big of a cult following that he decides to make his show a YouTube series instead. Because of his new-found success, he switches sides, claiming that it's impossible to be evil when people love him. His new web series, which he now handles by himself, explodes in popularity after just a few short days. Sonic and Amy reflect that without Stormy, he had no one to impress and that his new crowd has given reason to believe in himself. Amy then announces the entire gang has been challenged by Junkaholic to do the ice bucket challenge since Amy mentioned donating her check from the show to ALS research. After the gang splashes icy water on each other, Knuckles admits that what's under his loin cover is now a choking hazard.
