Episode 299 - TNAoSTH Classics
Taped: 8/3/2014
Plot:
The gang celebrates their sixth anniversary by looking back on their favorite Sonic shorts in the past 60 years with each in-between segment hosted by Sonic and Knuckles.
Hedgehog-tied (1956): Eggman (as Elmer Fudd) hunts for Sonic (Bugs Bunny). First, Sonic surprises him when he looks in a hole. Eggman shoots him in the face, apparently blowing his head off but his head pops back on and he runs away. Eggman sets a trap for Sonic, baiting it with a chili dog. Sonic replaces the bait when when the trap snaps, Eggman checks it only to find a bear in its place which then mauls him.
Saturday Social (1967): In a rip-off of Bonanza, Sonic and Tails on horseback approach Knuckles who is chopping wood. They ride off together to the watering hole where they find Rouge. Knuckles builds up enough courage to ask Rouge out to the Saturday social before falling in the watering hole. A giggling Amy then shows up and Sonic inadvertently asks her to the dance. At the social, Locke crashes the party to order Knuckles to chop firewood. He then comes onto Rouge who kicks him in the crotch before walking off in a huff. The short stops in the middle of an all-out brawl with Sonic about to get punched in the face.
Sonic Meets the Harlem Globetrotters (1975): In this Scooby-Doo spoof, Sonic, Amy, Knuckles, Tails and Cream find the Harlem Globetrotters bus in Yonkers. The Creeper steals their game ball and Sonic's team promises them they'll get it back for them. The gang splits up with Sonic, Amy, Cream and half of the Globetrotters chasing The Creeper through a cheesy musical montage. Tails and Knuckles meanwhile find a set of plans to run the Globetrotters out of town before running into The Creeper himself who has kidnapped Amy. Knuckles has the gang together chase The Creeper into a shed, allowing Amy to escape. When The Creeper gets stuck in a window, a Globetrotter pulls off its mask revealing Shadow. Shadow is arrested and the gang enjoys a Harlem Globetrotters game.
Sonic Presses His Luck (1984): On a special celebrity edition of Press Your Luck, Sonic, Knuckles and Eggman play for their favorite charities. Eggman amasses more than $100,000 in winnings, including a new car for a home player, and passes his spins to Sonic. After Sonic survives his passed spins, he earns one and passes that to Eggman. With Tails' help rigging the board, Eggman hits a Whammy and Sonic wins the game.
The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (Unaired Pilot - 1993): Scratch and Grounder help Eggman finish his newest invention which they plan to use on Sonic and Tails. Sonic and Tails overhear the robots arguing before they turn the machine on. The machine shoots bouncing raccoons which Sonic manipulates into running into each other and Eggman. Eggman screams "I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG!" and pulls Scratch and Grounder away as Sonic and Tails laugh at them.
After the final short, Locke barges in and demands Knuckles to chop more wood. Knuckles obliges at first before returning with Rouge, both tired of his sass. The cast then gives thanks for six years of support, then toasts to another six years...or 60. A series of clips play over the credits with Fluffy using his magic wand to poof the last clip away like Tinkerbell.
