Episode 289 - The New Adventures of Clarence Caldwell
Taped: 5/25/14
Plot:
While Sonic and his family are playing in the sandbox, Tails flies into the backyard with some urgent news. Just as he tells them they're being hunted, the CIA arrives, telling the entire family a serial killer is after them. An agent gives them new names to protect their identities and drives them out of Station Square. After a six-hour drive, the CIA dumps them at a beat-up house, expecting them to adjust to a new life and drives off. Seeing no food in the house, they decide to get some by trying to start the '68 Valiant in the driveway. Knuckles digs through Sonic's floor only to discover the house is deserted. He then goes to Tails' house where Cream tells him what happened. Knuckles warns them that GUN already caught the serial killer and that there was no reason for the CIA to take Sonic away. Tails suggests looking for where Sonic may be, to which Cream and Knuckles oblige. Sonic drives the family to a food shop whose owner offers a possum that has just been killed and skinned. Sonic turns it down and returns to the car to drive the family somewhere else. Knuckles has encountered Eggman who is surprised to hear someone has already beaten him in attempting to kill Sonic. They, along with Bokkun, head over to Tails' house to plead their case, since without Sonic they're nothing. Eggman deduces that Tails has the ability to follow Sonic, since whenever he dies, he always respawns right next to him. Tails tells them there's another way; he can use his natural instincts to find Sonic wherever he may be. Everyone then boards Eggman's hovercraft and they head off in search of Sonic. After eating a gas station meal, Sonic is visited by a new neighbor, the polygamist daughter of a sheriff. When she tries to have her way with Sonic, the father breaks in and exercises authority by hogtying Sonic. Eggman then arrives with his Eggmobile, stopping the neighbors and taking Sonic's family back. He explains that without Sonic, his life would have no meaning because there would be no one for him to try to kill. When Eggman brings them back home, they put aside their differences before the evil doctor leaves. Sonic suggests they get some real food at IHOP before the CIA arrives, telling them they put the wrong family on witness protection. The real victim has already been killed and is surrounded by flies on the side of the road.
