Episode 285 - It's Just a Giant Cracker

Plot:
Blaze lets her parents in the apartment while feebly trying to wake Silver up. She gives up just as Harold finishes preparing the table and Cream arrives with Tails and Miles. Harold finally starts the seder without Silver who still sleeps through the beginning. Black Doom oversees from space and, unfamiliar with the story of Passover, thinks he can do a better job on the plagues than God. He sneaks to the apartment and just as Harold starts retelling the Passover story, has her Black Army abduct the family. Silver wakes up in time to see everyone carried away to the Black Comet and rushes over to tell Sonic, Amy, Knuckles, and Rouge what just happened. Amy agrees to watch the kids while Silver takes Sonic, Knuckles, and Rouge where he saw the Black Army take off. Black Doom has held the seder attendees prisoner and tells everyone he plans to use the plagues from Passover as a way to thin out Earth's population. He demands them to tell the complete story of Passover as a means of research or he'll kill them in one hour. Silver leads the gang to his apartment and when Sonic suggests they look for clues, Silver pretends to act out Blue's Clues, much to the chagrin of everybody else. After finding the items the party left behind, Amy, who has called over Bob Barker to watch over the kids, texts Shadow to come over. Shadow arrives and Chaos Controls everybody to the Black Comet. The gang splits up to find the hostages with the girls checking out a spooky forest and Rouge scoping the place out using her supersonic hearing. The boys check out an abandoned house and find nothing inside. Knuckles still expresses concern over upcoming fatherhood but Sonic and Silver do their best to offer words of encouragement. The girls meanwhile find the hostages and before they can start freeing them from the space goo, Amy uses her loon call to usher the boys over. Sheila remembers the goo is made of alien anal secretions and Silver concludes it must dissolve with ham. Sheila, being the devout Jewish woman she is, immediately protests but Blaze reminds her that they all have to make sacrifices in their lives. Before anyone can be free, Black Doom arrives, as it has been an hour. Harold tells the story of Passover which confuses Black Doom, thinking at first that the plagues were meant to cause genocide. He dumps ham on everybody which indeed clears up the goo and calls off the invasion. Shadow Chaos Controls everybody back to Station Square with Blaze eager to get back to the seder. Sheila, unsettled that her own family nearly got killed on Passover and Hanukkah, announces that she has no objections to her daughter and grandson converting to Christianity with Harold agreeing though they wish to retain their own faith. The following Sunday, Silver, Blaze and Platinum are welcomed by Reverend Priest along with the entire congregation though they conclude they're not 100% comfortable with attending church regularly. Afterwards, Amy rushes home to discover Bob Barker serving her kids tofu and ushers him out.
Fun Facts:
Blaze and Platinum renounce Judaism as of this episode. Sheila and Harold retain their faith but are less devout. While not genuinely Christian, Silver, Blaze, and Platinum all agree to celebrate Easter and Christmas going forward. It's revealed that Rouge can use echo-location like normal bats.
