Episode 262 - Lucky Seven
Taped 11/15/13
Plot:
Sonic and Amy can't find Lightning anywhere though Amy believes Sonic may have something to do with it. Meanwhile at a bar, Lightning gets drunk on chocolate milk and turns the bartender into a ball when he refuses to keep serving him. Lightning reminisces his time on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson where Amy and Sonic jokingly agree to Craig's idea to invite home viewers to send in fan mail for Lightning's upcoming birthday. A few days pass and Sonic's house becomes littered with fan mail and birthday presents in no time. Competing talk show hosts get a hold of Sonic's number and tie up his phone line with requests asking then to appear on their shows. Manic calls to wish Lightning a happy birthday only to be told off by an angry Amy. During the commotion, Lightning sneaks off and back at present time tells the bartender that's how he wound up at the bar. The bartender tells Lightning he needs to patch things up with his parents if he wants to have a normal birthday without all the unnecessary fan mail and presents. Lightning, however, is convinced he is too famous to be loved and walks out of the bar. Back at home, Amy tells Sonic they need to visit Craig Ferguson because it will be the only way they can stop all the mail from arriving at their house. They swim through all the letters and eventually find Flash, Amber and Sonic Jr. so they can get going. Lightning meanwhile hails down a taxi, intending to start a new life away from his family. While Lighting thinks about what new name he should have, the driver takes him to a bad neighborhood and drops him off. Sonic and Amy call the police and give them a description of Lightning. The officer's walkie-talkie goes off and tells everyone about Gary Street in the dangerous neighborhood of New Life. There, Lightning has built a house made of plywood and takes some items from a convenience store that was just robbed. He then hears someone coming and hides underneath his makeshift bed, only to discover it's just a police officer. After much cajoling, Lightning agrees to go home and forget about his new life. Sonic and Amy reappear on The Late Late Show where Craig makes amends with them and the police drive by to reunite Lightning with his family. Craig agrees to have Sega deal with Lightning's fan mail and the gang returns home to celebrate Lightning's birthday as planned before. Lightning opens his presents: A new laptop from Sonic, a cookie from Amber and worms from Flash. Charmy calls Sonic looking for Gary Goode before hanging up.
