Episode 202 - Help Control the Pet Population
Taped: 9/9/2012
Blaze and Silver are in their apartment waiting for Tails and Cream to return from taking Platinum to the park. The trio arrive with Platinum carrying a dog which he found there. It has no license or tags and did not appear in any lost dog pictures in the neighborhood. Silver offers to have Platinum adopt the new pet only on the condition that he can take care of it. Blaze thinks it's too huge a responsibility and volunteers to help Platinum until he's old enough to handle the job by himself. After Tails and Cream leave, Silver takes the dog to the vet while Blaze and Platinum go to the pet store to buy supplies. When they return, Silver lets the family know the dog is a one-year old male, has all his shots but is a bit on the chubby side. It takes four hours but Platinum picks out a name for the dog while watching it asleep. He calls it "sleepy" but it comes out as "Sweepy" due to his speech impediment at a young age. The next morning, Platinum is horrified to see that Sweepy is gone. His parents help him look around for him and their search takes them to the laundry room where they discover that Sweepy is actually a female and gave birth to seven puppies overnight. Silver and Blaze show the dog and newborns to Platinum who is ecstatic to see the additions to the family. They then call Tails and Cream over to see the dogs but Platinum wanders off. When he returns, he brings in a cat which Silver and Blaze are reluctant to accept. Silver concedes when he thinks having another pet in the house can't hurt. Cream warns them that the cat could have kittens...which it does three days later. Soon after, a fish tank appears, Platinum brings in a pregnant hamster and there is a camel outside of the apartment. Tails and Cream once again return to investigate the scene and Silver determines they need a solution and fast. When Blaze saves Platinum from a flurry of multiplying rabbits, he believes it is the last straw. He decides to find homes for all the old and new pets and to convince Platinum that the family can't take care of any of them, including Sweepy. Cream and Tails search for someone to help take the pets away while Blaze takes Platinum to visit her parents. Silver calls up Marine because she's good with animals. She happily agrees to come over and brings Sonic with her so they can help. Cream and Tails, meanwhile, visit Bob Barker who is still furious that The Price is Right did not invite him for the 40th Anniversary show as a special guest, and recruit him when he realizes there are animals in trouble. He and Rich Fields are eager to help and the foursome are on their way back to Silver's apartment. Sonic and Marine are assessing the zoo that the apartment has turned into and Rich Fields announces Bob Barker's grand entrance. Bob decides the current pet population must be controlled and Rich hands him a pair of scissors so he can start spaying and neutering the animals. Marine then goes to look for people willing to adopt all the pets in the apartment. Before he starts snipping, Bob remarks he's too late to do the same to Cream. Marine discovers some places in Africa that can take the wilder animals such as the camel and zebra. Meanwhile, Sonic visits Shadow in space where he is greeted with the suggestion that people on the Black Comet are also willing to adopt the pets. Shadow goes to the apartment and Chaos Controls all the animals to the comet but forgets Sweepy. Silver thanks everybody for all their help before leaving to go join Platinum and Blaze. Blaze lets her parents adopt Sweepy and the inform Platinum that he can still keep her at their place and come play with her any time he wants. They drive back to the apartment where everyone else is there to greet them. Bob proclaims to Rich that his work is done and does his signature signoff before the two leave for the day. Silver suggests that the gang go to Pizza Hut to take the load off and everyone agrees. On the Black Comet, Shadow realizes there is no oxygen and all the animals immediately die.
