Episode 192 - Kitty Can Scratch
Taped: 6/23/12
Blaze and Silver are uncomfortably playing Twister until the former demands that they stop the game due to her aching back. Silver then goes out to do the grocery shopping and meets Cream along the way. He tells her Blaze is concerned with the ways they have sex because they don't think they can handle another child. Cream suggests birth control and Silver adds several morning after pills to his cart. He reveals to the cashier that he's buying so many because he still is in a common law marriage with Blaze but then rejects the idea after realizing how ridiculous it is. While walking out, Silver thinks Blaze should instead take birth control for now until they get married legally. He thinks he should see someone who is already experienced in dealing with multiple children and Sonic immediately comes to mind. Sonic reluctantly invites him in the house and Silver explains his scenario with Blaze. Sonic explains the virtue of patience to Silver and that he and Amy still make love, just on safe days. Silver tells him that he and Blaze are too spontaneous and as a result, love to take risks. Blaze meanwhile goes to Dr. Doctor where she has a pregnancy test performed and it comes out negative. The doctor asks her if she's considered contraception, to which Blaze reveals she has been thinking about the pill. The doctor hands her a prescription for one with a formula designed for cats. She heads off to the drugstore where the pharmacist accidentally knocks a shelf full of pills over and hands her a bottle that looks like Blaze's prescription, hoping it isn't mental stability meds. Blaze and Silver eventually meet up at home where he reveals that he's been thinking about the idea of her on birth control. She takes out the bottle of what she believes are birth control pills and Silver is delighted. Sheila, who has been watching over Platinum, tells the couple he's doing just fine before leaving. Blaze takes the first pill and Silver tells her that he's going to take Platinum to the park, leaving her home alone. Platinum gets injured while climbing a tree and Silver walks him home. Upon arriving at their apartment, they discover Blaze is now acting like a real cat. She has scratched up everything in their home, purrs against Silver and cuddles with Platinum. When Silver objects to Blaze sharpening her claws on their brand new couch, she scratches him in rage. Silver and Platinum take refuge at Sonic's where Silver explains Blaze's strange behavior. He suggests talking to Marine since she's used to dealing with weird animals. They get to her house where she tells them that dingoes are rumored to eat babies. At that moment outside, a real dingo, Rosco, snatches a baby from a stroller and brings her into the house. Marine asks them if Blaze has been taking new meds, to which Silver replies she has started a birth control regimen earlier in the day. Blaze reveals herself just as Marine mentions her run-ins with bunyips in Australia. Marine strongly believes the medication is causing her to act this way and suggests they take her to the doctor. She runs off and Sonic gives chase. Marine tries to reel her in with her boomerang but her throw misses. Silver and Marine go to the doctor's office, dropping Platinum at Amy's house along the way. Dr. Doctor explains he gave her the right prescription and denies any wrongdoing but suggests they bring Blaze's medication over so he can examine it. A tired Sonic is still chasing Blaze in the middle of the woods. She climbs a tree where she begins harassing a squirrel by smacking it with a tree branch. Sonic sneaks up behind her from another tree and finds Betty White, who tells him not to ask how she got there in the first place. She gives him some advice for capturing her and she even helps out in the process. When Betty calls Blaze over, she leaps into her arms. But when she rubs her the wrong way, Blaze scratches her angrily, forcing them both out of the tree. Betty threatens her with a broom and she runs off. The doctor, meanwhile, investigates the pills and to his horror, they're not the ones he prescribed. Instead, they're for mental stability for bipolar patients. He recommends they the rest be thrown out and that Blaze should be normal 24 hours after taking them. Silver and Marine then head out to find Blaze who is wrestling with Sonic in front of the fish market. They quickly help subdue her and fill Sonic in on the entire scenario. Later that night, she wakes up with slight amnesia but Silver and Sonic are relieved to see she's normal again. Sonic suggests it was the pharmacist that screwed up and that they should take revenge on him but Silver thinks it's best they they don't bother. After Sonic leaves, Silver and Blaze agree that the experience taught them that they should not keep waiting to have more children. They also spontaneously get married at the synagogue in Station Square with Marine offering their best wishes as they leave. Now they agree they can have children without making it seem awkward. They decide to celebrate by covering themselves in Crisco and chasing each other in their apartment. However, they forget that they left Platinum at Sonic's house where Lightning dumps Crisco on him. When Lightning discovers Platinum likes it, he says his parents are weird and the episode ends.
