Episode 186 - Cinco Plinko Stinko
Taped: 5/5/12
Plot:
Sonic and Amy are getting the backyard ready for their Cinco de Mayo fiesta with some help from Cream and Tails when Swen and Eric arrive with their instruments to provide some festive music. Sonia and Manic also arrive with some nachos and Sonia's homemade jalapeño cheese dip with Manic sporting a sombrero that he's none too thrilled to be wearing. Knuckles shows up on cue upon Manic pleading to not have anyone make fun of him or his hat. Jenny comes shortly after with a piñata for the kids to have a whack at. As Tails starts to hang it, Bob Barker rides in on his magical flying microphone raving about piñatas representing animal cruelty despite the fact theirs is shaped like a guitar. He snatches it and flies away swearing to rid the world of every last one he can find. Lightning, Amber, and Flash are all saddened by the loss of their chance to obtain candy which prompts Sonic and Amy to formulate a plan to stop Bob. Tails will follow Bob by air with Sonic following on foot while Knuckles seeks the one person who they believe can talk sense into Bob, Roger Dobkowitz. Amy has Cream check Vector's arsenal of gadgets for some sort of tracking device that may assist them. Tails and Sonic catch up to Bob near the Mexican border and confront him. Bob will hear none of their "nonsense" when Knuckles soon arrives with Roger who, despite reminding Bob of all they've been through, is smitten by Bob's magic microphone. Sonic decides, in a last-ditch effort, to attack Bob with a Team Blast with a little help from Tails and Knuckles. The attack fails leaving the trio puzzled. Meanwhile, Cream has found what she believes to be a tracking device and searches the name "Bob Barker" but Swen quickly realizes it's zeroed in on "Bob Barker Studio" leading Amy to realize Cream has found nothing more than a mere GPS unit. Manic finally has had enough Sonia's oppression and removes his sombrero and formulates a plan of his own. He concludes that Bob hates only 1 thing more than animal cruelty... besides Drew Carey, the current Price is Right staff, cordless microphones, foreign cars, and fur coats: pregnant women attempting to do anything. They decide to all sit back and do nothing while Cream does odd jobs for them like clean Swen's keyboard and polish Eric's Gibson SG. Jenny then adds her own twist to the plan when she points out that Bob likes "pretty girls" like herself and heads off in search of Bob to lure him back to the party. As Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles continue to battle Bob, Jenny soon finds them and distracts Bob enough to make him stop fighting, giving her the chance to tell him what Cream is doing which immediately puts him into yet another tizzy leading him to give up on his pursuit of piñatas to destroy. Knuckles snatches them and returns them to the rightful owners while Sonic, Tails, and Jenny follow Bob. Upon his arrival back at the party, he rants and raves about what he observes Cream doing when Amy hits him with a surprise hammer attack and calls him out for being the chauvinist he is. Bob concedes and admits that he's simply old-fashioned and that there's really nothing wrong with piñatas or pregnant women being independent and decides to let the fiesta commence. Everyone is having a blast as Cream blindfolds Tails and lets him take a swing at the piñata with Amy's hammer. One good swing later and the candy scatters much to the kids' delight. As they enjoy their treats, Manic gives Bob his sombrero as he dances to Swen and Eric's Latin-inspired version of the Price is Right theme song. Sonia mixes up a margarita for Manic who requests Swen and Eric play Jimmy Buffet's "Margaritaville." Bob does his traditional sign-off with Rich Fields appearing to begin his closing line but is distracted by Sonia's jalapeño dip. Sonic and Amy are relaxing when suddenly Roger Dobkowitz reappears to which Sonic inquires how it could be possible. Roger replies simply with "You can't stop The Dob." Sonic and Amy agree wholeheartedly as the episode ends.
