Episode 180 - Bad Karma
Taped: 2/24/12
PLOT:
Vector and Vanilla wonder about Espio up in his room as he has been crying the whole day. After going upstairs, Vector listens in on Espio and Charmy having a private talk. Espio tells Charmy about what really happened with Liz and Karma in a flash back. Six years earlier, Espio arrives back home after a day on the job to Liz announcing she's pregnant. Espio takes it in shock, saying he's not ready to become a father. That night, Liz calls her other boyfriend, Iggy, who hangs up on her when she tells him the news. Espio overhears Liz berating him and she kicks him out of the house. Nine months later, she dumps the child off expecting the situation to blow over. Espio promptly asks for help and she leaves Iggy for good. On the day of her death, Liz and Espio write confession letters, Liz about the child not being his and Espio about his sexuality. Just as they are about to deliver them, Liz and Karma are captured and killed by Eggman. Silver and Espio watch appalled as they are reduced to ashes with Espio holding onto her confession letter that fluttered to the ground along with her picture. After the flashback, he brings up the secret he never got to tell Liz and Karma before they died. With Chaotix, Vanilla and Cream now in the same room, Espio lets them all know that he never was attracted to Liz because he is gay. Mighty convinces him that everyone is unique and that him being gay rounds everything out as far as everyone in Chaotix goes. He tells him to enjoy himself and his new found sexuality by going to a gay bar. Vanilla and Cream bring out a large ice cream cake to cheer up Espio but Vector tells them he left. At a graveyard, Espio and Charmy try digging for Liz's remains because Espio wants to tell her remains the truth assuming they landed in the spot where the graves are. Charmy reminds Espio that the graves are actually empty and that he still has his picture and letter so Espio tells the picture the truth about himself. After leaving the picture and letter in the grave and pushing the dirt back the way they found it, they go back to Espio's old house where Marine currently lives. Charmy explains he is getting over the heartache and she invites them inside. Espio is calmed by the remodeling of the house as nothing inside reminds him of Liz. Espio and Charmy then pay Sonic and Amy a visit to let them know the truth. Amy thinks Espio wanted to have an affair back when he frequently stayed with them but when Espio tells her he came out of the closet, she can't help but laugh. Espio and Charmy ponder what Sonic sees in her when Espio realizes he still has Mighty's money. The two agree to rent Moulin Rouge for the night. When they return, Espio is greeted by the rest of Chaotix, Vanilla and Cream with a surprise party celebrating Espio's coming out. Might admits that he was washing his hands after Espio high-fived him because he's a germophobe. When Mighty notices Espio is bringing in Moulin Rouge, everyone agrees that they like the movie and they decide to watch it together to celebrate.
