Episode 161 - Family Jewels
Taped: 06/17/11
PLOT:
Junkaholic comes out to acknowledge that last week's episode was a "dramatization" of what would happen if someone had an addiction and that Sonic didn't exactly have a chili addiction, but that the events in the episode could've easily happened if he was and you can enjoy more chili jokes in the future. In other words, the events in last week's episode didn't really take place. When the actual episode starts, Amy is questioning Blaze why Silver wants them to go camping. She tells her that, because it's Father's Day, it's Silver's day and Blaze lets him do what he wants on that day. Ironically, Sonic is interested in a trip for once, and is even packing the camping equipment. Sonic reveals that he became a camping enthusiast a few days ago. Meanwhile, Silver has already gotten everything set up at the camping site and wonders where everyone else is. Sonic is using Silver's directions as they try to find him but Sonic has the paper backwards and is reading the wrong directions before Amy corrects him. As they try to find fire to help guide the way Silver accidentally sets a bush on fire after he flings a marshmallow he set on fire while he was roasting it. Luckily for everyone it happens to be what tips the group off of his location and they find him. Sonic puts out the fire with a Sonic Wind, much to the relief of Silver despite the fact that he wishes he could do that move. He quickly recovers from the sadness and decides, along with the rest of the group, to have camping stories. Silver decides to tell everyone about his dad. He tells of Gold the Hedgehog, the biggest plumber in the city, despite being on the fat side. The episode then goes to show a story sequence where Gold gets a new call for him and his brother, Luther, whom he gets out of bed. Apparently, downtown under a bridge, a pipe broke inside a cave. Luther is needed due to being tall. They get to the location of the problem and stop the leak and broken pipe. However Gold falls off a cliff and lands near a wall with weird markings on it. They're instructions and, after following them, end up getting themselves turned into sand and sucked into it. In the darkness they find a pipe and go into it. When they emerge they stumble across the Mushroom Kingdom and end up having to save the Princess from "a dragon". The story is interrupted briefly as Sonic is just staring at Silver but it continues when the women want to hear more. The two plumbers head off to save the Princess from Bowser in a very Mario-like style. The two plumbers eventually do reach Bowser's Castle but Amy interrupts Silver, saying the story makes no sense at all. In reality, Silver's dad died right before he first came into the past (our present). He was a plumber but nothing more and died from lead poisoning. The episode ends with Junkaholic showing up again, saying how this is not how to do an episode of the show and should be Sonic-like and not similar to Mario. The rest of the gang mess around with the set, including Stormy who launches a thunderstorm to mess up the set himself, and the group complains about the story before Silver wishes everyone a Happy Father's Day. The episode then ends.
FUN FACTS: This episode was done in honor of Father's Day. When Sonic is told there is no highway, he says that there's one in his mind and in hell, the latter part of that statement being a reference to the AC/DC song "Highway to Hell".
CAST:
Junky: himself, Amy, Silver, Gold, Bowser, Toad
Stormy: himself, Sonic, Princess
Koopa: Blaze, Platinum, Yoshi
Fieldsy: Cream
