Episode 160 - Chilidogs Anonymous
Taped: 06/10/11
PLOT:
Cream is babysitting Lightning as Sonic and Amy are at the store. There, Amy gets fed up of Sonic's obsession with chili and tells him to stop buying new cans. She leaves him at the store to continue shopping while Amy goes home to recruit Cream's help to rid the house of chili, which they do. Chili is found in the most unusual of places, including under the bed and inside VHS cassettes...there's chili in the toilet and even chili stashed in the attic that's from 1974! Vanilla and Vector show up when the search is finally over with...inside the house. When Sonic comes home, he only bought more chili and Amy threatens to kick Sonic out. Sonic, from the moment he gets home, admits his wrongdoing and goes out to see a clinic that opened just recently. Of course, it's run by Junkaholic and Stormy. Sonic walks in and is automatically suspicious. However, since he has no other choice, he has to go with the flow. He gets shown a picture of Junkaholic himself as an example of a person not addicted to chili as Junkaholic hates chili. He shows him a picture of someone who is addicted, which turns out to be a picture of Sonic himself. He then shows Sonic a picture of Bruce Villanch as a projection of what he'll look like if he doesn't stop eating chili. He has to go into a special room where Silver, his coach, is at. He must sign a bunch of papers and take a urine sample. Sonic continues to be suspicious but still admits he has no choice. He can't leave because he believes he'll lose his wife and kids if he does. He does the urine sample and then a semen sample. While he does the semen sample, Sonic is very convinced that the place is fake but knows there's nothing he can do to stop Junkaholic's plans right now. Sonic finishes the sample and has some blood drawn. Sonic is then "cleansed" by using a machine to pump water into his body. Meanwhile, Amy and Vector are shopping for the actual groceries while Vanilla and Cream babysit the kids. They hope Sonic gets the help he needs while the two of them talk about dads and fatherly figures. Amy admits that, while she can't stand Espio, she likes Vector and even Charmy. In the end, they both hug. While this happens, Sonic's time with the machine activated ends. Stormy comes in to take him to the next room, where Chaos, his mental expert, is waiting. Stormy also finds out from Junkaholic that Silver wasn't going to be paid for anything after Silver suggested he get his check in the mail. Back in Room B, where Sonic is, he manages to hear Chaos' voice for the first time and tell the story of where his chili problem originated. Sonic always had difficulties eating. He could only eat chilidogs and carrots. They were tasty and he could keep them down. He only began to eat chili more often starting at the age of 7. Ice cream was tasty and he could keep it down longer than other foods, and considers it okay. Chaos believes that Sonic's mind concentrates too much on chili and not other foods as his mind thinks it's the only thing that will help him. Sonic is shown a bowl of chili and he only notices the goo Chaos left on the sides, indicating he forgot all about the chili. Chaos thinks he's cured and sends him to see Junkaholic, the doctor, in Room 201. Junkaholic tells Sonic that Chaos' notes are spot on and that Sonic has a rare disorder. Sonic stomach can't produce enough acid to digest food properly as his test showed that he's got low non-chili based acid levels. Junkaholic gives him a permanent medication he must take, one daily pill in the morning. Using that medication and Chaos' methods, Sonic shouldn't be addicted anymore. Junkaholic also admits, after Sonic realizes that he didn't do nothing evil, that he's helping him as his battles haven't been so fun due to Sonic having so much weight. He also wants his kids to have a father. When Sonic knows he must convince Amy, she's right behind him, having been convinced by Vector to come there. Sonic is told no more chili and has one of Cream's carrot cupcakes. Eggman shows up to, surprisingly, give him his support, and the family decide to take a walk before it gets dark while they go to a pharmacy to get Sonic's medication he'll need. Sonic plans on starting his daily exercises again in the morning. Sonic believes that he'll succeed as Charmy's been conquering his addiction as of late. Charmy, meanwhile, is drinking orange juice while doing a puzzle and asks if he was actually in the story. The episode then ends.
