Episode 154 - Egg Beaters
Taped: 04/29/11
PLOT:
On Easter, an Easter egg hunt is taking place. Sonic has to explain what it is but isn't too successful. Luckily for him, Amy is there to help him out. The hunt goes well with a few bumps here and there. However a closer look at the eggs show that they're Eggman's, who just happens to show along with Bokkun. They talk and fly off. Sonic is pretty confident that the eggs are part of his evil plot but no one else believes him. The sun sets and the group head home. Later, Sonic is still concerned and Amy comforts him, reassuring Sonic that nothing will go wrong. Even as the clock hits midnight they go off to sleep. Meanwhile, at Silver's house, the first Eggman bot pops out of an Easter egg while Silver and his family are sleeping. It injects them with some substance then explodes. The same thing happens all over Station Square, including Cream's house, during the night. The next morning, everyone wakes up to an unusual surprise. They're all acting like robotic bunnies, or robunnies! However, the first attempt and a second attempt by Robotic Amy fail to change Sonic, who is still himself. It turns out he has an "anti-robunny serum". Eggman and Bokkun, meanwhile, realize the only way how anyone could have it is by eating lots of chili...and of course Sonic loves chilidogs. Eggman is not happy with this setback but knows the robunnies will deal with him. The two have some banter before the episode shifts back to Sonic, who is dealing with even more of his robotic friends, such as Knuckles and Shadow. Sonic has a quick chilidog in the kitchen and Shadow's reaction to the chili pot makes Sonic realize that it's the chili that is the antidote. He uses that chili to free Shadow and he soon establishes what is going on. Sonic cooks more chili after seeing that the smell only frees them temporarily while Shadow holds them back. Soon Tails, Cream, and Blaze are freed. Silver and Knuckles follow. Sonic manages to free Lightning and Platinum is with Silver on the couch. Platinum never got robunnied. Amy is the last one to free...but it turns out that she merged with the remaining robunnies and grew to a gigantic size. Eggman, surprisingly, comes down to offer his assistance. Realizing that Amy is too much of a threat now and that chili won't work this time, the group must think of another way. The emeralds are too powerful. The explosion from freeing her would destroy everyone and everything. However too little power will end up in pretty much the same result. The only thing that could use the right amount of power is the Eclipse Cannon, which can tone down its power for smaller applications. The right amount of emeralds and the right amount of charging time would do the trick and, after making calculations, 1 or 2 emeralds would do it. Suddenly, a twist appears: Amy comes out normally, after Tails saved her! As it turns out the giant Amy is actually Jenny! Despite that they still have to defeat her. Sonic has one emerald with him and Silver has another after looking for Easter eggs in the hunt previously. Knuckles has a third emerald he found under the couch and it's put in for good measure. The cannon is fired and there's an explosion, as predicted. They are certain Jenny will return in a future episode unharmed. Eggman and Sonic decide to "hang out" because of Bokkun's suggestion to Eggman about "getting to know Sonic" and as the credits roll, they converse. They decide to get chili cheeseburgers but when Eggman realizes that he has no money, he flies away swearing revenge on Sonic. Sonic just scoffs at how he'll never understand Eggman and the episode ends.
FUN FACTS: This is actually the first time Sonic and Eggman attempt to have some sort of a normal conversation in the series.
