Episode 134 - The Beast Within
Taped: 12/17/10
PLOT:
Junkzilla is on a volcano, vowing to stomp on it and make it erupt to wipe Station Square off the map. Sonic dodges his fire breath with a spin dash. However, just as the battle starts, Junkzilla suddenly quits the battle, changes back to normal, and walks off. Sonic is pleasantly surprised at this, as Junkaholic heads home to Stormy. There, he reveals that he's tired of being a monster. Ever since a curse was put on him to become that monster, he has felt like a freak. Fed up with being Junkzilla, he wants the curse removed. Remembering the day it happened, he was in the mountains, where his family lived, along with his grandmother. A flashback begins where a young 3 and a half year old Junkaholic roams through the forest, having been separated from his grandmother, for a place to use the bathroom, when he stumbles across an ancient hidden temple and goes inside. A shadowy figure is inside and Junkaholic accidentally disturbs his slumber. The shadowy figure eventually possesses his body, writes "If I get angry I will turn into a beast" on a piece of note paper, and attaches it to his body. Junkaholic is upset at all this and Stormy suggests that Junkaholic revisit the mountains and that temple again, in hopes of ridding him of Junkzilla forever. However, getting around the mountains could be troublesome. As a result, Junkaholic sends Stormy to get Knuckles' help. Knuckles agrees, but since his mother is in the hospital from the race last week(1), he'll have to take Mace with him. Knuckles believes that someone who knows all about supernatural activity and creepy temples could be of assistance as well. That person turns out to be Tikal. They have everyone but Knuckles goes off to get Sonic, just in case. Junkaholic finds out what's happened and is okay with the extra help. They head off to "The Long Valley", near "Death Mountain", where his family once lived. They decide to pair up in teams: Sonic, who arrives at the last minute, is with Tikal much to Sonic's disgust. Mace is with Knuckles and Junkaholic is with Stormy. A few hours later, night time arrives and they camp out where they are. Since Junkaholic's family has since moved away from the mountain, no one is there. In fact, he has last heard that the place was deserted. Everyone falls asleep, and Junkaholic has a nightmare. With comfort from Stormy, he falls asleep. However when they wake up, Junkaholic is next to Knuckles and Mace is on top of Stormy. The four have awkward moments, and when everyone wakes up, they head off to continue their quest. Three hours pass and they reach Long Valley. They need to find a cabin, which is where the trail to the mountain begins. Tikal travels back in time to find where it used to be, due to all the trees obstructing everyone's view. Tikal eventually finds it, but when Junkaholic melts away the snow by turning into Junkzilla with the fire breath briefly, he finds the cabin and the trail. They scale the mountain and eventually reach the temple. The shadowy figure is there, and is awakened. It isn't long before Junkaholic and the figure start to argue and attack each other. Stormy gets angry over the sudden battle and starts summoning a storm. Both of them, however, don't seem to listen and the figure even attacks Mace. Furious, Stormy strikes the figure with lightning and tells him off. Realizing how powerful Stormy is, the shadowy figure agrees to let bygones be bygones and make Junky normal again. Junkaholic faints from the same method that gave him the curse in the first place. As everyone tries to pull Junkaholic away to his couch at home, the shadowy figure continues to pester the group. Fed up with him, Stormy makes a 500 mile per hour gust so huge that it easily blows the figure away. They bring Junkaholic home and the gang leave Stormy and Junky by themselves. The next morning, Junkaholic awakens and claims that he doesn't remember the trip, but what led up to it. He decides to test what happens. The tequila no longer works and the negative energy from the Chaos Emeralds, which they had to get by robbing a bank, doesn't do much either. However the positive energy works...but not by making him Junkzilla. In a flash of light, Super Junkaholic is born! Stormy tears up in happiness, and Junkaholic goes off to deal with Sonic to continue what had started in the beginning of the episode. Absorbing some of the energy, Sonic becomes Super Sonic. Later at the volcano, the duo charge at each other but when Junkaholic hits him head first, it leaves him dazed. Realizing he needs practice, the episode ends.
