Episode 114 - Ragtime Cowboy D'oh!
Taped: 07/23/10
PLOT:
After Charmy has Skittles with Espio nearby, Charmy explains that he heard about an old abandoned ghost town on the news the other day and eventually heard from a hooker friend of his that gold may be hidden there somewhere. Being broke and wanting to be rich, the two decide to go there. However they realize that they won't just let anyone there. As a result, they agree that they'll need help from someone important to come along. One possible person is "that kid that plays with balls" and someone "called Lighter or something", obviously talking about Lightning. However when Espio suggests they bring Sonic instead, Charmy agrees, they drag Vector along, and they head to see Sonic, who is getting his hair trimmed by Amy. Saying he needs to be presentable from the many games he's got coming up, she has difficulty keeping him still from his constant squirming. Amy then senses that they're about to be interrupted by something and sure enough, Amy opens the door to see Espio approaching. She lets him in, despite her not excited to see him, and they relay the plan to Amy. She knows they want Sonic and she finishes up his haircut before he's let go to tag along. Knuckles, sensing a treasure hunt, arrives to help too. After some discussion, Sonic gets impatient and they all head out. Later, they show up at the Dust Hill Zone. They soon realize they're at the ghost town Charmy mentioned. Charmy suggests they each check out a building to search. Looking in a jail, Charmy initially comes across nothing. Knuckles doesn't see anything huge on his radar and Sonic is amazed at the lack of people around. What they soon see is that Silver has arrived to have a day off from his family. Blaze is right behind Silver too. Charmy returns to the rest of the gang to relay information that there's nothing in the jail. Charmy also notes that there's a cave he saw out the cell window and, believing the gold might be there, the gang take a trip to the cave. The radar Knuckles has finally picks up something. Heading into the cave, they run into an area that's blocked due to the roof being caved in. Silver says Blaze can throw fireballs, which will come in handy when Silver makes his move to pave the way. Blaze gets the fireball ready and Silver surrounds it with a bluish glow. Using his powers, Silver breaks the caved in portion of the cave and they can now advance...although Silver got caught on fire in the process. As Silver gets everyone's attention, Charmy goes in and out the cave, hauling an old trunk. It's locked, though, and they must find a way to unlock it. Knuckles throws it and hits a rock, shattering to bits. After progress seems to have been made, the trunk turns out to have been empty. However Knuckles' radar still has something so they continue into the cave. The radar is picking the item in question even more, hinting that it's close by. Knuckles runs into a light switch and, after turning the lights on, they discover that they found the rear entrance to the GUN military's vault. They find the gold but they realize it belongs to someone else. It's being guarded by Rouge, who was mentioned earlier by Knuckles to be on assignment by GUN. While she's guarding the vault, she runs into the gang in the process. They all begin running off, blaming someone each time...even Tails is blamed by Espio and he wasn't even there! Meanwhile, Amy is at home and a news story about the gold rumors being confirmed false show up and that GUN's storage facility is where the old ice mine was. The area is now under GUN's control and thus civilians are not allowed to move around there. The gang, including Sonic, comes in and Sonic can only facepalm as he finds out they weren't in danger since the area was okay to roam around by the public until tomorrow, meaning they snooped around on the last day of public access. They mention how they didn't find anything and Amy, for no reason, suddenly blames Rouge for that. She runs away and the episode ends.
FUN FACTS: Blaze reveals that the reason why she loves Silver is because "he's not a complete idiot." Sonic mentions that Knuckles could also find a tampon that can also be used as fox food, a reference to a moment with Tails eating a tampon in Knocked Up Knuckles.
