Episode 78 - Mid-Life Ain't All It's Cracked Up to Be
Taped: 10/16/09
PLOT:
Shadow is upset at the past deaths of Cuddles and Maria and thinks the prime of his life has passed and he's not as ultimate as he used to be. Eventually, he wants to see Sonic but has to be moved out of his chair to do so. Meanwhile, Sonic and Lightning are spending time together and Lightning tries to impress his father from up in a tree. Sonic tries to copy him, but the fact the tree is a chilidog tree serves as a distraction as Lightning crashes from getting his attention. Even so, Sonic unintentionally falls out as well and falls on Lightning. As Amy discovers what happened, Shadow arrives. He wants some sort of gizmo to make him young again. They try to make him feel better but to no avail. After a few attempts to cheer him up, nothing has really come out of it and Shadow ends up being shocked...literally. Amy checks Shadow's pulse and announces that he's dead. Meanwhile, in purgatory, Shadow is in nothingness, but his haunting thoughts go away. A Dark Figure (JACK SILVER) and Angel (SWIFTY) are bugging him in the meantime. Meanwhile, Dr. Doctor tries to zap Shadow back to life. Later that day, Reverend John F. Priest (JUNKAHOLIC95)and the others are having a funeral as Rouge gets a little hasty. Back in the purgatory, Shadow convinces the figure and angel to let him go back to Earth. In the process, he got rid of his gold wrist bands and falls back to Earth. Inside the coffin, Shadow comes back to life and blasts out of the coffin. He then beats up Tails and challenges Sonic to a rematch. They head to the ARK and race. Shadow is happy that he's back and sheds a happy tear. Live and Learn plays over the credits as Sonic and Shadow race. There's a fade to black, and the episode ends.
