Episode 56 - They Hardly Work for Their Money

PLOT:
Espio opens the show by lamenting he can't pay for his ice cream. Mobius has deeply affected our heroes since nobody treats them like real people. Knuckles suggests they find real jobs. Espio applies for a job to unclog toilets and accepts it with the condition that he'll get paid in ice cream. His first task is to clean the toilets in Central Square Stadium. Chao meanwhile finds work as a toilet brush despite being cute. Tails becomes the Emerald Mascot and Vector the trash picker-upper. Jet meanwhile becomes the towel boy. Due to Espio making his job fun by rafting through the waste water, the stadium becomes destroyed and everyone is again unemployed. Tails comes up with an idea of being a professional annoyer but no one likes the idea. That night, everyone follows Knuckles' plan of becoming prostitutes but that doesn't work either. A guy in a nice suit comes by and convinces them of a dream job luring them with things they desire. He takes the group to a factory where it is revealed he has made them their slaves. He has also kidnapped Manic. Espio hatches a plan to escape but the Suit Guy's Mom arrives and demands his son to set them free. When our heroes escape, they find Knuckles who never got on the bus because he's afraid of buses. Knuckles suggests newspaper delivery, but that plan doesn't work either. A rich person invites the group to become test subjects for a new product. These products are later revealed to be reptile repellent which makes Espio sting like crazy, bird flu vaccine which was used on Jet, and a new way to scrub toilets (Chao). Before he tries a new way of portable colonoscopy, a blimp hits the building and Silver comes from the wreckage to announce the recession is over. Amy tells them they didn't need jobs because they've been saving up on rings. It is them revealed that Silver got the blimp to get people to notice him. Knuckles digs his way through the floor to tell the group he never seems to go through to the basement as the episode ends.
Fun Facts: One of few episodes in which Stormy did not participate. As a result, Sonic doesn't appear at all in this episode.
