Episode 706 - Wreck of the Old 9.7
Taped: 12/10/23
Plot:
Eggman gets stuck in a tree, and he screams at his robots to pull him out. Cubot only comes up with an axe which Eggman and Orbot use to smack him. Eggman forces himself free, sarcastically thanking Cubot and Orbot for their lack of help. They then decide to get back by hijacking a train since the Eggmobile is still stuck in the tree. Meanwhile, Sonic asks Amy to remove a splinter from his butt. When asked how it happened, Sonic says that he taunted Eggman by mooning him. Eggman blasted Sonic into a tree, and Sonic scraped against the bark. Amy jokes that at least he didn't get to mess with the wrong kind of Bark who lives with Jenny. Amy warns Sonic that Eggman's out for revenge, but Sonic brushes her off. Eggman takes over the train and speeds it to the Mystic Ruins. Since he's never operated a train before, he doesn't know how to use the brake. Orbot points out the lever, but Cubot breaks it before they can use it. Eggman realizes that there's only one person who can help him, so he calls Sonic. Eggman apologizes to Sonic for blasting him and wants him to help stop the train and save the Mystic Ruins. Sonic reluctantly agrees and tells Amy before speeding off. A guard orders Sonic to pay for a ticket before going to the station. Sonic explains that there's an out of control train and that he's there to help stop it. The train then speeds through the station, and the guard lets him pass. Sonic runs up to the train and taps on the window so Eggman can let him inside. Eggman demands to be saved, but Sonic points out that there are other people on the train. Eggman says they're on a freight train, to which Sonic says homeless people might be on the boxcars. The train crashes, and Sonic and Eggman die on impact. Amy and Sonic's kids cry at the funeral with Sonic in a closed casket. Amy says Sonic's name repeatedly, revealing that this was just a daydream that Sonic was having. Sonic rushes out to save Eggman for real, only for the security guard at the train station to point out that Sonic's butt is exposed for all to see. Sonic covers himself and rushes after the train. He tries to help Cubot and Orbot shove Eggman through a window, but they're too late. The train crashes, killing Eggman. Weeks later, Sonic faces the aftermath of having no villain. He's fired from his job, then he is surrounded by all his friends who scornfully point and chant that it's his fault. Sonic comes to again before Amy can even remove his splinter and rushes off to help Eggman get off on the train. He boards the train and has Eggman use Cubot to break his fall after bailing from the train. Sonic then does the same with Orbot as they skid to a halt. The train breaks through the buffers and crashes causing a fireball which engulfs the station. Sonic tries calling Tails, who is too busy making love to Cream to answer his phone. The fire spreads to Sonic and Eggman killing them. Sonic awakens again, this time before Eggman even calls and rushes off to save him. This time he successfully gets to Eggman and pulls the emergency brake. While the train stops, Eggman notices that Sonic is bleeding profusely which causes him to fall unconscious. At the hospital, Dr. Doctor helps Sonic come to, but he accidentally reattached his head to Eggman's body. He wakes up again from Eggman shaking him after he crashes into a tree. The train passes, Eggman having decided against hijacking it after all. Sonic decides to call things even by requesting that Eggman check his butt. Eggman does, and it turns out he's fine. They then go their separate ways. Sonic doesn't want to watch anything train related, so he and Amy put on the Hallmark Channel.
Sonic Sez: Cubot has been playing a video game for 37 hours straight. Sonic lectures on why it's dangerous because you tear yourself away from your personal life that way.
