I. The Fun Begins (August 3rd - November 15th, 2008)
August 3rd, 2008 was a boring day at the former TPIR 'XX Studios. Nothing was really happening so our residential junker decided to "terrorize" the studio and area as Junkzilla (a since retired alter ego Junkaholic the Hedgehog transformed into every now and then). At first it seemed like he wouldn't be beaten but Stormy41992 appearing as Sonic (later his prime role for the show) exposes his weakness and defeats him. This whole idea would eventually conclude with who was the father of Amy's firstborn, Lightning. Many other established roles came from this idea, such as Punchboard91 as Tails, Junkaholic the Hedgehog, and Stormy the Echidna. Junkaholic and Stormy were officially decided as hedgehog and echidna, respectively. Junky and Stormy liked what they saw so much they decided to make it a pilot for a series based on their little adventure. Thus, The New Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, or TNAoSTH was born.
The show had gathered a following by about episode 5 and by this time, recaps for past shows began to appear in an effort to keep up with facts about the series. The characters had also developed some personalities that set them apart from the Sega canon, such as Tails' obsession with porn and being referred to as "Horny Tails". That element was dropped in favor of a running gag where he busts through windows to enter a building, most notably Sonic and Amy's house. As the series began to get more popular, a bloopers special, featuring outtakes of moments past, was produced with expanded roles for cameo appearances. The show's first epic plot involved every character getting a gender swap, resulting in Knuckles becoming pregnant. As the number of regulars increased by Episode 13, a Frequently Asked Questions thread and submission ideas in the form of previews were added.
II. Gaining Ground and a Movie (September 26th - October 31, 2008)
On September 26th, 2008, as the show continued to expand in popularity, character profiles for canon and fan-made characters were introduced as a means of explanation for who's who in the show. By this time, the setting of the show comes into focus with the concept of it being present day with all the characters being aged 10 years older as of 2008. By Episode 16, some classic material from AoStH sneaked into the show, with a "Sonic Sez" segment and Sonic loving chili dogs. We got to know Junkaholic the Hedgehog a bit more with an episode dedicated to him, which was done on Junky's birthday. Episode 23 dug deeper into Junkaholic the Hedgehog's evil personality and Stormy the Echidna's good personality and their disagreement with it. Though this element of the show was huge at this time, it has since been put on hold due to Stormy's diminishing presence in the show. The recaps by this time got their own explanations as a way for the audience to understand their purpose and what each section is about. Beginning with Episode 24, the show began spoofing celebrities, in this case, Mr. T. Episode 25 also marked the first of many holiday specials: Halloween. Then came The New Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie. It saw an even bigger expansion of characters and was a complete success.
III. A New Home (November 1st, 2008 - March 20th, 2009)
With the show still picking up steam, roles were expanded further, including the introduction of Sonic's son as a main character. The show even came to its own, removing some running gags that were deemed tiring, such as the narrator, while still keeping the series fresh. Other characters began to take different personalities due to their actors. Tails had been given more of an idiotic personality along with an infatuation to Amy. Another key moment came in Episode 29 when Lightning spoke for the first time. This moment would later be referenced in an argument between Sonic in Tails in Episode 44, when Lightning had spoken again. The show branched out, doing things such as musicals, clip shows and crossover with the Mario Bros. universe. A spin-off was even tried, The New Adventures of Super Mario Bros., which lasted only two episodes. With the show at its peak, the TNAoSTH's original home changed hands from Junkaholic Studios to its own website on January 16, 2009.
Despite the setback, the show still continued. A sequel to "Knocked Up Knuckles" was produced and Sonic was confirmed to be the actual father of Lightning. Episode 43 introduced KoopaKid17 as an actor and on the next episode, Amy and Sonic settled further into family life by confirming that they are expecting twins. More specials were being produced as the actors had more chances to develop the characters they were performing. Stormy's brother had gone off to Afghanistan, and an episode was dedicated to him portraying him and his family.
IV. Special Abuse and the First Spin-off (March 21st - October 3, 2009)
The show celebrated 50 episodes in and the next month was dubbed the "Month of Specials", since every episode that month except one was indeed a special. By the end of that month, the suggestion section got a makeover to what is displayed today: Specials and Non-Specials with the latter categorized by whoever wrote the preview. The show continued expanding its horizons with more off-beat character personalities and incredible specials. Spoofs of the real world were also done, including a show-within-a-show ruined by ratings-hungry executives on NBC and a spoof of E! True Hollywood Story. The New Adventures of Super Mario Bros. was even revived for a brief run as a summer replacement for TPiR 'XX. Episode 70 marked the second ever Sonic Sez segment seen on the show, about drugs. Also, the events that preceded the pilot episode were revealed, including how Lightning was conceived. Amy and Sonic's role as parents grew considerably, as Lightning was toilet trained and their twins, Flash and Amber were born. Another special was done in honor of Stormy's brother returning from Afghanistan, with Stormy having the honor picking the episode.
V. Changes and a Second Spin-Off (October 4th, 2009 - February 19th, 2010)
On October 4th, 2009, the format of picking episodes changed. Instead of picking one to act the day of the show, the next episode would be chosen one week in advance to allow more time to prepare. the show temporarily moved a half hour later to 9:30 p.m. to accompany one of the actors not being able to start until later that night. As more recaps were being posted, On October 5th, a Table of Contents was created for easier. The show eclipsed Sonic X in episode count (78) in October 2009. On November 12th, 2009, a similar table of contents was added to the characters section of the site with biographies of every major character and facts about minor characters.
After a brief hiatus took place, in which the Christmas and New Years specials were double features, another sneak preview of the show's pilot, The Lightning Chronicles, was produced. Episode 89 saw Sonic eat a Chaos Emerald. The show also moved from Fridays to Tuesdays and would be there for a few months. Another new cast member, MioDon89, was made permanent and with 9 members attending the show, the series' attendance record was broken. Episode 91 revitalized Knuckles' love of grapes and also sparked a new issue involving Sonic's role on the show, eventually being resolved in the following week. At this point, the TNAoSTH site celebrated its first birthday and another miniseries, Sonic Returns, was announced. The format involved Sonic coming back to Knothole Village and introduced characters from the SatAM series. The spin-off was soon retooled and renamed Sonic: The Lost Stories before being axed after two episodes.
VI. 100 Episodes and More Evolution (February 20th, 2010 - October 22, 2010)
The show continued its repertoire of specials, one involving a competition the Mario Bros. for the Winter Olympics. In April 2010, the show reached its 100-episode milestone and the site celebrated it with a special episode with a look at 100 years into the future. Not only did it turn out to be quite possibly the best episode in the series but it shattered the attendance record, which currently stands at 12 members. The show still tinkered with new ideas, including yet another summer miniseries where the gang takes a trip to the United Kingdom. Other ideas were not received as such and tensions rose but things did settle down, allowing the series to continue as normal.
Another prominent episode focused around 4/20, since the episode was done on that day. A select few characters got the surprise of their lives as Espio lost his wife and son while Blaze and Silver welcomed their new child, Platinum. A few days later, the staff noticed that many specials had been done every April with some of them starting as early as mid-March. Due to this, on April 23rd, 2010, every April would be declared "Epic Month" from here on out. Also, due to scheduling conflicts between the performers, particularly Stormy, the show moved back to Fridays once again. TPiR 'XX also suffered the same fate with a TNAoSTH spinoff, Sonic UK, being planned during its annual summer hiatus. After TPiR 'XX was mutually cancelled, Sonic UK started in its normal slot but lasted only five episodes, permanently putting an end all future miniseries. However, some story lines, including a romantic relationship between Vector and Vanilla, evolved from Sonic UK so the series was not a total bust. Afterward, the show continued to expand on certain plots and topics from babysitting to penis envy.
VII. 150 Episodes & Cheers For Epic Month II (October 23rd, 2010 - May 14th, 2011)
With the decline of available actors, one episode saw an episode without a suggestion which would never happen again because it was so disorganized. Also by this time, Stormy began giving up a number of his characters as the series began to get burdensome for him. As 2010 came to an end, Lightning learned many more moves and a mini episode the following Tuesday featured the debut of Lara-Le. In addition, Junkzilla had been retired at the creator's request and Blaze is revealed to be Jewish, spurring misunderstandings at Hanukkah between herself and Silver. 2011 began with another new addition, Vector and Vanilla unexpectedly bringing a daughter, Charisma into the world. TPIRFan1986 would eventually assume her role as a result of retiring the useless character Flicky. Another special was produced involving the origins of Stormy and Junky's home and them finally renovating the place due to events from a Chaos/Junkaholic battle. Silver's super form, Ms. Silver, became a major plot focus for Valentine's Day and the character was eventually retired the following week. At one point, drug abuser Charmy resolved to become clean in order to score a date with Sonia. Another "Epic Month," took place this year with eight specials over a period of seven weeks. In the midst of all this, April 8th saw the 150th episode of the show take place and a double feature of two specials took place on April 22nd.
VIII. Struggles & Facing the End (May 14th - December 31st, 2011)
After the second Epic Month, interest in TNAoSTH slowly but surely waned in part due to declining attendance for the show. By that summer, the show was getting only three actors per show with Stormy's appearances becoming much less frequent. Attempts to revitalize interest failed with no response from the Facebook or Twitter community. In spite of this, a second movie was done and new story lines continued to develop, including larger roles for Cream. A special involving her being autistic was done along with an implied relationship with Tails. That fall, with cancellations and no-shows becoming an almost weekly occurrence, it had become apparent that the show could not go on. On December 3rd, two weeks after the unannounced last episode was produced, the show was to be cancelled by the end of the year. New episodes were to be planned until that time but were never done due to lack of performers and an audience.
IX. Sparking a Comeback (January 1, 2012 - May 4, 2012)
The New Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog successfully returned with Episode 176, Tikalled Pink, on January 27, 2012. On that episode, brand new plot lines were introduced, including Cream conceiving a child with Tails. The show continued on any schedule with which it could run as long as the people could meet and act with an audience, no matter how big or small. As specials continued to be produced, another Epic Month proved that no one had lost their edge. The show even took opportunities to introduce new characters and reveal secrets untouched in previous specials, such as Espio being confused about his sexuality.
X. Going to Our Roots (May 5, 2012 - December 31, 2012)
The month of May introduced a brand new actor into the show in tpiradam. His contributions to The New Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog result in something no one else thought possible, the series' 200th episode. This results in more previews being contributed, including a slew of potential specials. May also saw the show briefly move to Saturday nights at 9pm which, by June, was changed to 8pm when it became clear the show was running too late. This was again changed in July to Sunday nights at 8pm where the show currently resides and sees continued success. In the meanwhile, the show touches on adult situations, such as mid-life crises, cigarette addiction and birth control. The show even begins spoofing their roles in Sega, such as Sonic starting his own video game company allowing Knuckles to become the new mascot and Tikal and Omochao clashing over who gives better advice. In the fall, Lightning starts school and Cream gives birth to her first child, Miles. Amy becomes pregnant with Sonic's fourth child and another flashback episode is produced, this one involving how Shadow came to be. As 2012 comes to a close, Silver gives up being Jewish on Hanukkah, which Blaze's family understands and the Mayan doomsday prediction is spoofed.
XI. Stronger than Ever (January 1, 2013 - June 9, 2013)
2013 had a humble beginning, with an episode dedicated to just Sonic, Tails and Knuckles having an adventure for the hell of it and Silver experiencing an unlikely bout with genius. With the new year and planning for the year's specials underway, it was noted how each summer since 2010 something special occurs, thus, a new tradition similar to Epic Month was conceived known as "Super Sonic Summer" which takes place in late summer. Tails encounters a shocking discovery about his family history and later becomes engaged to Cream, marrying her three months later. In the meanwhile, Sonic reunites with the Freedom Fighters from Knothole Village and Platinum finds he can levitate himself and others.
XII. Super Sonic Summer (June 10, 2013 - September 12, 2013)
With "Super Sonic Summer" in full swing, every episode had its own specific theme. This summer, Amy becomes the focus of attention in the later stages of her pregnancy, dealing with Metal Sonic on Father's Day and going into labor at a Justin Beiber concert, eventually giving birth to Sonic Jr. Also, the show takes on a month of self-parody, reenacting their favorite scenes from the two Sonic Adventure games, Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog. Plus, the gang discovers a curious reason as to why they celebrate Independence Day, Cream graduates from college and Flash and Amber celebrate their fourth birthdays. During this time, the show moved back to its normal slot on Friday nights at 8:00 p.m.
XIII. Success and Hard Times (September 13, 2013 - January 5, 2014)
Once the summer ended, it was back to business with the regular episodes once more. Specials were still done such as Knuckles and Rouge forgetting their Thanksgiving turkey and Platinum playing a Jewish-themed board game for Hanukkah. As the months went on and 2013 came to a close, the staff was forced to make a difficult decision. Stormy, who had been sporadically active with the site for the past couple of years was dismissed after making his last appearance in October. With this came the retirement of Stormy's character by him divorcing Junkaholic and moving back to Windy Valley with his brother. His remaining roles were split between those who played them while he was absent. During this time, Lightning celebrates his seventh birthday with a boatload of fanmail while Miles celebrates his first by learning to fly. Also, Lightning returned to school for another year with Ms. Penny who moved up a grade and Vector warms up to Vanilla's taste in music.
XIV. Untold Stories and Specials (January 6, 2014 - Present)
The first half of 2014 saw a pair of Mario crossovers: one involving Bowser Jr. briefly switching sides and another having Mario and Sonic battle their counterparts respective game levels to save Princess Peach and Amy. Specials for this period involved Lightning having his first encounter with love, a brush with a St. Patrick's Day serial killer and Sonic trying to hightail it to Mexico by himself for Cinco de Mayo. Also, in an effort to cut down on specials, Blaze and her parents renounce their Jewish faith after celebrating Passover one last time. Sonic and Amy also expand their home to accommodate their growing family. The series also went in-depth with the foundation of Chaotix, Espio's friendship with Charmy and how Rouge came to be a treasure hunter along with a spoof of Sonic Boom.
XV. Super Sonic Summer II and Fall Mini-Specials (June 8, 2014 - December 2, 2014)
The return of Super Sonic Summer dominated the middle months of 2014 with the gang's Fourth of July celebration tainted by the return of Fang the Sniper. Also, Rouge and Knuckles welcome twins into the world and the new mother gives an unexpected reason why she wanted to start a family in the first place before Chaos threatens their guardianship blessing. As fall settled in, Flash and Amber, turning five years old, accidentally explore space and Lightning celebrates his eighth birthday by taking Sonic Jr. for a spin in his (power wheels) Escalade. Plus, Bokkun stages revolt with Metal Sonic and Omega against Eggman, Cream and Rouge switch husbands and lives for a week and Chaotix deals with a concert dilemma along with Espio breaking his hand.
XVI. Onward to Winter and Spring (December 3, 2014 - April 23, 2015)
With the advent of winter came more memorable events such as Sonic and the gang saving Christmas after Santa comes down with Ebola and Sonia tagging along with Chaotix to investigate a New Year's heist. Chaotix deals with another setback when Vector gets injured playing hockey and Manic finds out the cause of his earthquake drumming is actually from his sticks. The arrival of spring brought yet another wave of specials, including a St. Patrick's Day celebration involving an overabundance of potatoes, a revival of TNAoSTH classics and Platinum celebrating his fifth birthday by finding out he is a gifted child. Also, Fang makes two triumphant reappearances, spying on Sonic and Amy and later serving as a dance partner to Cream.
XVI. Sandwiched Specials and Game Show Tournament (April 24, 2015 - September 9, 2015)
The spring and summer months of 2015 saw a mix of specials ranging from Knuckles having a Cinco de Mayo hangover to Vector resolving to spend time away from Chaotix and be a dad to Charisma. TNAoSTH hosted its first ever Game Show Tournament which featured a myriad of Sonic characters battling it out to be crowned the ultimate game show champion with Shadow at the helm of seven classic shows. Sonic Jr turned two and marked the occasion by taking on an adventure similar to his father and to round out, the twins celebrated their sixth birthday but with one in school and the other playing sick in an attempt to enjoy it more.
XVII. Moves, Music and Monsters and Marts (September 10, 2015 - January 8, 2016)
The fall months of 2015 brought changes to the show's setting and their characters. In this period, Sonic learns to play guitar due to being tired of his "air-guitar" routine on Sonic Underground and Charmy vowing to quit drugs a second time, this time for good. This time of year also saw a slew of autumn and early winter specials, including Station Square being overrun by ghosts on Halloween and Sonic attempting to hide a Christmas present from Amy that nearly results in their divorce. Meanwhile, Silver and Blaze move out of their apartment and into a new house, Lightning is held by customs in Germany due to a misunderstanding about his age and Chaotix braves Mobi-Mart for shopping on Black Friday.
XVIII. Going Global, Reflections and Battles (January 9, 2016 - May 12, 2016)
Moving onto the winter and early spring months of 2016, the show tackled on another slew of specials, including a revisit from Alex Kidd, Sega's former mascot, and Cream delivering a child on Easter Sunday. The series experimented globally with how it would be set around the world in along with a St. Patrick's Day special taking place in Ireland. A fourth set of classics took on how Sonic would function in decades past as a nod to pop culture of the era. The cast also experienced brushes with stardom with Tails stealing the show in a variety act, Sonic dealing with a stand-in for a new biopic and Platinum writing a hit song. This period also brought in the removal of Bokkun in favor of Eggman's new henchbots Cubot and Orbot.
XIX. A Priceless Roast and 400 Episodes (May 13, 2016 - September 19, 2016)
This month's slew of specials brought in new ways to celebrate, including an episode where the gang competes on The Price is Right and Sonic getting roasted by his friends and famous celebrities. The 400th episode saw the show steer back to the good old days with the cast playing a show of Whose Line is it Anyway?. Also, the gang meets Charmy's brother, one of many from his hive, while Amy and Jenny learn about a secret from their late father. Sonic also tries new things in this span, going from a temporary retirement from heroism by working a 9-5 job to racing against Eggman in the Tour de France.
XX. Going & Growing (September 20, 2016 - January 5, 2017)
The Fall and early Winter of 2016 saw drastic changes in the roles of the children, such as new abilities for Roger and Wynona and interests for Platinum, Flash and Amber. In addition, Cream learns more about the creation of Chaotix along with Sonic showing Shadow how his family celebrates Thanksgiving. Among the specials done in this stretch time were a series of shorts from the 1920s through the 1960s and a mayoral race between Eggman and Vanilla lampooning the 2016 United States Presidential election. This period also saw Amy's sister Jenny starting to turn away from a life of alcoholism by way of a surprise pregnancy.
XXI. Fit to Be Tied (January 6, 2017 - May 17, 2017)
This period saw relationships blossoming into engagements with Eric proposing to Swen after being taught how to read and write. After years of putting it off, Espio and Sonia also become engaged. Meanwhile, Vector and Vanilla have their relationship put to the test when the latter's biological clock ticks down for good and Lightning learns a dark secret about a classmate's family. Other bombshells are dropped such as Tikal revealing why she doesn't trust men and has always hit on girls and Blaze not really being Jewish, having been adopted by Harold and Sheila. After putting up with it his whole life, Sonic faces his aquaphobia when he kids are taught how to swim and even learns what being a dad is all about.
XXII. Special Revelations (May 18, 2017 - October 18, 2017)
The summer of 2017 dug deeper into the personal lives of the characters by explaining more of their backstories, such as Rouge going into why she became a treasure hunter and Locke telling Knuckles why he raised him the way he did. In October, Jenny cleans up her act and gives birth to her first child, revealed to have been fathered by Junkaholic. During this time, the growing kids begin to take on more features from their parents, such as Sam and Miles taking on after Cream and Tails. Also during this period, Sonic's team plays against the Mario Bros. on Double Dare and the gang takes part in more classic shorts from Shakespeare to an alternate present.
XXIII. New Year, New Site, New Beginnings (October 19, 2017 - January 20, 2018)
As 2017 drew to a close, a much-needed major change was in the works regarding site hosting. After a lengthy migration, the series would eventually ring in the new year by saying goodbye to the outdated SMF For Free site and hello to the flexible and up-to-date Proboards. Along with the move, major shakeups in the characters' relationships took place, such as Sonic and Amy taking steps to improve their marriage and Espio meeting the actual biological father of his son Karma. The gang also takes on the ghost of Monty Hall for Halloween, solves a turkey crisis for Station Square on Thanksgiving and helps Manic deliver gifts as Santa Claus for Christmas.
XXIV. Families, Friends and Fun (January 21, 2018 - July 25, 2018)
2018's first half brought in winds of change as the main families grew older and closer together. For instance, Sonic discovers Sonic Jr. has inherited abilities from Amy and Lightning flirts with the chance to outperform him. Flash meanwhile picks up violin lessons, and he also must brace himself for getting his tonsils removed. The adult relationships are explained more in-depth: Locke and Knuckles try to re-connect with lost father/son time, Blaze and Silver struggle with giving a sibling to Platinum and Jenny celebrates getting out of rehab. The gang took another trip around the world, showcasing the best of Russia, India, Finland, Nigeria and Mexico, along with another blast from the past with a Classics show.
Celebrations and Schedule Changes (July 26, 2018 - December 29, 2018)
After years of hosting shows on Sundays, the end of 2018 marked the return of episodes held on Fridays to accommodate the actors' schedules. History was also made in this period when the show not only celebrated its tenth anniversary but also its 500th episode. Aside from reminiscing, the cast took a look at what their show would be like in different eras throughout history. Lightning is also faced with new changes as he celebrates his twelfth birthday and starts middle school. In addition, Chaotix faces competition with another crime-fighting rock band, Silver and Blaze prepare to welcome a second child after years of trying and Junkaholic the Hedgehog is retired as a regular character.
XXVI. Going & Growing (December 30, 2018 - July 7, 2019)
The first half of 2019 saw transitions in the kids as they saw their first tastes of getting older. Platinum and Lucy started middle school while developing feelings for one another as the year went on. Platinum, wanting to impress his future sister with something other than mental abilities, gave competitive sports a try. Sonic and Amy also took notice, using the latest technologies to give their kids their first allowances. The gang also experimented with different scenarios, seeing what their show would be like if Locke was nice, Lightning was a girl and Sonic was morbidly obese. They also took a third trip around the world with France, Brazil, China, Kazakhstan and Israel as the countries of interest.
XXVII. Priceless, Classic Moments (July 8, 2019 - January 7, 2020)
Classics and specials provided the cornerstone of this era, so much so that the theater where they took place was in need of renovations. The gang took another trip through the decades, saw what the show will be like in 3020 and made fun of Disney movies and television shows. This period also saw Sonic Jr. starting school for the first time, Lightning going through puberty and Flash and Amber performing in school. Sonic and Amy reveal their marriage has been troubled, but give each other another chance by becoming a surrogate for Swen and Eric. The gang also made new discoveries, seeing the Loch Ness monster in Scotland along with finding a new tribe of echidnas other than Knuckles' ancestors.
XXVIII. Discoveries in a Changing World (January 8, 2020 - June 22, 2020)
A real-world issue in the coronavirus pandemic had the show adapting to a life-changing atmosphere. Families around Station Square experienced more togetherness with the closures of school and local businesses along with heightened medical guidelines. Eggman even took a heroic role with his medical background, helping the government look for a possible cure. In this period, the show tackled other horizons such as Sonic, Manic and Sonia looking further for Queen Aleena. Having gone through puberty, Lightning and Lucy develop deeper feelings for each other and let their relationship blossom. The show took another look at international specials while featuring YouTube personalities of the past and present.
XXIX. Uncertainty in a Turbulent Year (June 23, 2020 - December 1, 2020)
Still on the heels of a pandemic, the show pressed on through an uncertain environment with Chaotix hosting a socially distance concert and Espio putting his ice cream making to good use to support Chaotix. Specials came back into the picture once more with another International edition and Sonic taking a look at his past animated adaptations. One highlight of the year was Swen and Eric becoming proud parents of a baby girl named Stevie. Meanwhile, Sonic and the gang celebrate Independence Day by taking part in a Revolutionary War reenactment, Locke is put through the wringer at a retirement home and his high school reunion and Silver puts a real horror in the haunted house he build for Halloween.
XXX. Continued Navigation in a Pandemic (December 2, 2020 - July, 8, 2021)
As the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic begins to fade, the show presses on into 2021 but first takes a stroll down memory lane as Sonic and Tails recall the history of their beloved plane, The Tornado. 2020 came to an end as Tails reverts to a more feral state only to be brought back to normal by way of his love for Cream. 2021 kicks off with a literal bang as Mayor O'Brien forms and army for fear of the incoming president. The gang takes a look at more YouTube shorts and has another encounter with the Mario Bros. More classic shorts and some very interesting translations of past episodes soon follow. Finally, Knuckles and Locke nearly burn down Angel Island with their overzealous attempt at building a barbecue pit.
XXXI. Holding out for Hope (July 9, 2021 - January 6, 2022)
With the pandemic not completely in the rear view mirror, some characters aim to take big leaps in their lives. The late summer and fall months of 2021 saw Eric taking a side job as a sketch artist, Mace and Marine now living together in Station Square and Shadow discovering his biological parents. Also, Flash takes further interest in the arts while Lightning's relationship with Lucy is tested by the school's star quarterback. The summer of 2021 brought in two specials: one where the gang looks at cringe-worthy fan fiction and the perennial Around the World favorite. Holiday specials focused on Sonic and Eggman teaming up to fight off the former's scrap and Santa Claus suing Eggman for interrupting his yearly ride.
XXXII. Somewhat Normal Procedures (January 7, 2022 - June 30, 2022)
The first half of 2022 began with a still rocky path to recovery for the cast and crew. With the passing of Betty White on New Year's Eve the previous year, the gang paid tribute by celebrating one of her shows in each decade. With a new year came new confidence as Sonic decides to give potato farming a try and Manic gets back into the dating scene after a successful hair transplant. This period also saw changes for the kids, such as Sonic Jr. learning new moves and Flash possibly discovering love. As far as holidays go, Cream's hard work as the Easter Bunny pays off as she wins the prestigious Holiday Entity of the Year award. Also, Locke and Knuckles finally find common ground on Father's Day of all days.
XXXIII. Secrets, Specials & Relationships (July 1, 2022 - December 31, 2022)
The next six months brought along more anthologies for the gang to explore, namely more international versions, classics and YouTube spoofs. The time becomes right for Locke to finally reveal to Sonic about Queen Aleena's mysterious past after years of searching. Espio and Sonia's slow and steady relationship also results in them expecting a child in the future. Lightning is also growing up, starting high school and being able to drive now. Sonic Underground also takes him in as a new band member when he accidentally discovers that he can be musically inclined under the right circumstances. Eggman even gets in on the good news when he finally makes Santa's nice list, proving that there is a heart in him after all.
XXXIV. Acceptance and Further Developments (January 1, 2023 - June 30, 2023)
The show stepped even further out of its comfort zone with more relatable real-life issues. Examples include the gang helping Bowser Jr. come out as transgender, Vector suffering a bout with mental illness and Bark the Polar Bear showing an affinity for drag performances. Espio and Sonia further prepared for the arrival of their baby with a gender reveal party, with the former learning that going all out isn't always the best idea. Also, Eggman's villainy hits a snag so bad that Sonic has to help him get back on his feet just so they can continue their rivalry. Relationships also improved with Gordon Ramsay offering his cooking expertise to Silver and Sonic getting a Father's Day surprise of his life from his children.
XXXV. A Special Goodbye & Hello (July 1, 2023 - December 31, 2023)
The last six months of 2023 had its ups and downs with the passing of Bob Barker in the summer. In addition to a tribute special showcasing his many years in television, two other specials highlighted more classic game shows and children's entertainment of the past. In happier news, Sonia welcomed her first child with Espio happily embracing fatherhood again. Commitment was another theme in this run of shows with Knuckles and Rouge attempting each other's abilities along with Amy and Amber trying to share a mother/daughter bond. For holiday-themed shows, Locke unknowingly unleashes a curse on everybody, Big spends Thanksgiving with Sonic and Christmas finds Bark discovering that he's allergic to pine trees.
XXXVI. Turbulence & Triumphs (January 1, 2024 - Present)
The show has seen many changes and obstacles, highs and lows, and so much more, but continues to move forward facing new challenges every week.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------I.
2024 brought on a shortened episode count due to real-life issues. However, this period saw the start of new relationships and the rekindling of old ones. The year started off with Mace and Marine getting married and continued with them expecting their first child. Sonic and Tails see their friendship resort to rockiness and competition, but they're able to patch everything together. Sonic also helps Lydia get in touch with Matthias and help him cope with the stress of his parents' divorce. Amy hits 40 and is brought out of a mid-life crisis thanks to the help of her friends. Cream's position as the Easter Bunny is threatened, but she and her friends save the holiday once more while learning more about its origins.
The show has seen many changes and obstacles, highs and lows, and so much more, but continues to move forward facing new challenges every week.
